We all use Skype on a regular basis. If you don't, you're probably living under a rock. In using Skype, we all have the annoyances of having to open the window to reply to a message, or even read it. Why not be able to quickly reply to your messages? Maybe you're playing a game and don't want to be so drawn away from it every single message you receive. Maybe you're working on something and can't be bothered to open Skype every minute. Well, Zach (@Alpun) and I (@Muny) have come up with a solution. Last summer he and I began on this little project, and we finished a working version, but we never released it until now.
Skyply allows users to respond quickly and effortlessly to Skype messages via a small notification window:
Skyply notifications do not appear if you're in "Do Not Disturb" mode.
Planned features:
More settings, such as the ability to have the message read when the notification comes up, rather than only when you reply.
The ability to ignore certain conversations/completely disable Skyply for a certain length of time.
This list is short, suggest some more features!
Skyply is NOT a complete project, and shall be considered a "BETA" product until informed otherwise. We're still working on making it better, and we're extremely open to constructive criticism and invite you to share your comments and suggestions with us. Feel free to contact the Azuru team at http://azuru.me/contact.
I would just like to take a second to say something.
THIS is how you present your software/idea on this forum! Don't present anything until you've made a working version of it. Use a nice clear font and proper punctuation. Make an identity for your application! UI is very important and can really make or break a product.
I haven't actually been using Skype before this, but now I think I might start just to test this out. I really like this idea and think many others would like it as well. Good job!

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.
"we want to let you know that Skyply.exe app will stop working with skype starting December 2013. Please see our FAQs for more information"
They planned on removing the Skype Desktop API in December of last year, but it doesn't seem to be removed for me. Could you see if it works regardless of the error for me? Thanks. If that doesn't work, check and see if there's an update available for Skype. You can do this by clicking Help -> Check for Updates in the Skype menu bar.

Make sure Skype is updated, sometimes I've had to download the installer from the actual site to get an update because Skype didn't actually think there was an update available. Here is a link to Skype for Windows: http://www.skype.com/en/download-skype/skype-for-windows/downloading/

Apparently not...I'm running the latest version and the Desktop API still works for me. The app worked for all of my friends who have tried it, so I don't know...
That doesn't really make sense then. If we both have the latest version, why does the Desktop API work for me and not you? I don't get the warning either.

I use a PC for my desktop but when I'm sitting on the couch Skyping on my MacBook, this could as well be useful.
(If this was mentioned in the post, sorry .-.)
No, it does not currently support Mac. We do not currently plan on adding support for Mac due to the removal of the Skype Desktop API across all platforms.

If for not everyone I do talk to at personal level used Skype, I would use something else.
I currently use Skype 6.11.0.102, no API support there anymore as such started with 6.11+

Nothing besides the SKYPE4COM Interop library, which was included with Skype and which is embedded within the Skyply executable.
So.. I'm not a friend? :3
Very good project and Muny of course is sexy
