Depends on which game, if its a indie game like Slender I would put it in program files, but if its a favorite like Battlefield 3 then I would make a custom folder for games that are just like it or similar
It's a lot easier in my opinion, because then instead of taking the time to go through your entire program files just to find a single game, you can just go straight to that folder somewhere easier to get to and just open it.
Or, you could make shortcuts and use those. I didn't realize there were people that actually navigated through their hard drive to directly run the executable for a game or program.
I usually have to make a custom folder for the same reason as Xaanos, but on smaller titles like Minecraft and Slender I don't really care if they are on my SSD.
Todays question is: When installing a program, do you install it in Program Files, or in custom folder?
don't expect me to be on much.

Minecraft would go in there too, but I'm not sure it would survive outside of its natural Application Data habitat.
I have to agree with BC who manually navigates for games just make shortcuts on the startmenu like this
Windows 8 so nice I can just hit windows key and most of my games right there.
or use steam.
