Quote from Quanni123X You think Firefox is bad? Wait until you see it's faster remake, Waterfox.
Quote from fm87 Really? It only uses around 200MB for me.
Quote from alondite1010 Geez, what do you guys do to have so many tabs open? I only run max of 5 tabs..
Quote from To_Make I know this doesn't involve Firefox, but why are there so many Google Chromes?
Quote from Bassdoken Chrome spawns a new process for each tab and each extension. Like Xaanos said, it prevents 1 thing from crashing the entire program.
Quote from alondite1010 It's quite helpful, since I seem to keep getting Flash crashing, but when I disable it in plugins there are 3. It's quite annoying

Well its not a remake its just compiled for 64bit and some other compiler flags.
Memory hog for what it is.
I guess those memory leaks from way back didn't ever really get fixed.
I do agree there are some memory leaks they could fix* there are ALWAYS leaks lol*.
I caught my firefox using 2.4 gigs of memory the other day. My adblock plus was eating it up like cake.
At least, that's what I've heard...

In Chrome to help prevent 1 tab from crashing or lagging out another they each run as their own process.
Three tabs, Adblock, Ghostery, Firebug, and Web Developer Tool Bar.
Chrome spawns a new process for each tab and each extension. Like Xaanos said, it prevents 1 thing from crashing the entire program.

Flash is pretty buggy Firefox splits addons and extensions into a separate thread so Flash can't crash the whole thing most of the time.
