I want to hear your opinions on Linux and Windows in this topic as I am also willing to change my OS.
But please before posting I want you to remember it's ONLY windows and Linux I want to know about.
Thank you on beforehand.
I am plaing to build a new PC too that's why I want to know if Windows is worth the money?
If you plan on playing games at some point, the decision has already been made. You'll be more or less forced to use Windows, whether you like it or not. Maybe a few Indie games will run on Linux, but you can forget about basically all AAA titles.
If you don't plan on playing these games, then you can still choose. Windows, is of course, rather expensive, while most Linux distros are free. On the other hand, Windows is quite easy to use, while using Linux can be rather frustrating at times (I still do not understand how people came to think that package management > MS Installer files).
If you need to reliably run .exe files (wine is good but not perfect) go with windows. If you can get by on all the smaller but mostly free collection of software for Linux, do that.
The best plan imo is to just install linux, and if a while later you find that linux doesn't work well for you, just buy windows.
Thak you all for the time, and I think I found My answers. Btw This is a great comunity!!! :DYea and one more question is there any good SSDs on the market?
A lot of Ocz drive issues came from the sand force controllers I have not heard many issues sense they updated the firmware on them.
I think most of the issues were just with the Agility Series. A Vertex 3 or 4 drive should perform just fine. My old SSD was an original Vertex and I had no problems at all with it.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

The Agility series were old 2009 drives and used a very early sand force controller.
The Vertex series uses a Sandforce controller but a newer one.

Kingston and SanDisk are also good.... when they are good. Their QC is not as good as most other brands and there can sometimes be rather large batches of bad drives.

If you want to mess with Linux why not throw Ubuntu on a flash drive and live boot off it and mess with it.

Crucial, Intel, and Kingston make good ones. Stay away from OCZ drives.

Oh, I've just heard they are on the lower end of SSD quality. Thanks for clarifying.

Crucial, Samsung and Intel have a good rep for reliability.

Very good. Not quite Intel and Crucial status though.
