So, google spread the word about the Nexus 7, and you can already pre-order it from them. This is so impressive, a Tegra 3 quad-core, Android 4.1, an IPS display, and a 1.2 MP camera on the front, all for just $200 USD. I don't know how they do it.

So what do you guys think? Good? Bad? I think it's worth it, but there may be some catch to it that they're not advertising.
EDIT: I know there's another thread, but that's more of someone asking than a discussion thread.
I think it looks great. I love that they put a nice IPS display in such a low cost tablet. I'm a little worried about the battery life though with the better screen considering the battery is only a 16 Whr compared to the 25 Whr of the Prime and Pad Infinity and the 22 Whr of the Pad 300. I still think it's worth it though because a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 would be the next best thing and it still costs $50 more for a lower screen res and a less powerful processor.
I'm very glad that they included a front camera as well. Earlier reports were stating that there would only be a rear camera which would take away the ability to video chat.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.
Would have rather it been made by Samsung and been an Amoled+ screen.
But as Samsung makes the other nexus devices currently Google probbly wanted to send a message to other OEMs that they will not just use Samsung.
Also Tegra 3 really that is a 40nm SOC.
Nvidia has refused to release the source code for Tegra 3 so that means putting opensource roms on it will be a massive ***** for the guys making them,
So unless Nvida releases it and they never have in the history of the Tegra line
We got Omap 5 coming out in the later part of this year why not that.
We got Qualcom Krait in 28nm is out and beats the **** out of Tegra 3.
Over all this won't be a true nexus device it will have poor developer support from the custom rom community.
If this was a true Nexus device I would consider it but its not its a lie by Google.
I wander if it is better than a asus transformer prime
In what way CPU wise they are pretty much the same
Same amount of RAM.
Screen is same res and I'm pretty sure the prime is IPS still wish it was amoled.
The prime has a larger screen.
The prime has the advantage of having a dock for even more battery life.
The Nex7 has NFC chip so that is an advantage if your like me and use Gwallet all the time.
I still would not consider buying one unless Google works with Nvidia to make rom dev for it easier.
Even then I would rather have an Omap5 tablet for better battery life.
