Whichever is cheaper, performance for a GPU dont improve because you have five fans and its called "Extreme" or "Superclocked". ASUS makes cool cards, so basic overclocking if you choose to do it is good. MSIs may run cooler, but unless it's cheaper there really isn't a reason to buy it over the ASUS.
upgrading from a 580 to a 670, is like upgrading from an i5 2500k to a 3570k.
You will not be seeing much of a differenceEdit: The MSi runs a lot cooler. With the DCII edition you get ROG stuff (nothing much). The Asus DCII runs hotter than the Msi TFIV. The ASUS DCII is cheaper, but is a triple slot card, (it's big).

The Asus GTX 670 is only a 2 slot card and go for the MSI one the TOP is very faulty with stability
-Better cooling
-TwinFrozr IV dust removal (fan spin backwards for 30 secs)
-TRIPLE OVERVOLTAGE <-- This is what every other Kepler based card fail to do
-Looks better -2 slot
Btw, why not get a GTX 680 Lightning Xtreme when it comes out?
Thanks for all the replies guys. About the upgrade, this will be the last big upgrade in a loooooooong time. I need to start saving up for college, going to Rochester Institute of Technology, and a car. Plus, I need a cooler, more efficient card cause my dad is starting to yack at me for sucking up power. About overclocking my card, I have overclocked to the highest it can go, cause any higher I start running into stability problems. I'm also getting a new case, a new PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139015).
I'm, trying to get at least $300 for my old card, what do guys think I can get?
Where did you hear that? Asus makes the regular DCII and the TOP version, where the only difference is how well it overclocks. It goes through a binning process for that, so I don't see how those particular cards would run into stability issues.
check all the reviews on newegg it makes it seem its a horrible card
Well what games will you be playing?
Monitor resolution?
A 580 can last you another year depending on many factors (overclock it more), it is mainly do to if you want more performance now or wait till next year to see what is in store.

a 580 can last another 3 years.
The GTX 8800 is around the power of a 6770. Which can play MC and some other games at medium settings

I wouldn't upgrade, but I am sticking with the advice I posted earlier, some disagree, but the Asus runs cool enough, trust me.

MSI GTX 670 Power Edition Twin Frozr IV (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127685)
vs.
ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU II TOP (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121638)
----------------------------------------------------
They are the same price, but from what I heard, the DirectCU II cooler on the ASUS card is really good, but on the other hand I love my current MSI card a lot.
So I would like to hear you guys' opinion!
Thanks!
P.S. How much could I get by selling my current MSI GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme Edition? It's in great shape, and at a stable overclock.
Thinking about coming a mod to simply not moderate.

True....
I'm going with MSI, but the decision to get a new card still needs to be made
The 670 and 580 are pretty much on par for single monitor setups.
Since the 670 can run 4 monitors and the 580 can only run 2 on its own
