I'm going to make this short. I have been looking at some new gaming mice lately, and I have looked at features, looks and prices and I have narrowed it down to the Cyborg RAT series. I will not get the RAT 3 (too few features), nor the RAT 9 (wireless).
Here are my questions:
1. What is the difference between the RAT 5 and the RAT 7?
2. What is the difference between the RAT 7 and the MMO 7?
3. What makes the MMO 7 a ''MMO'' mouse?
4. Does the MMO 7 have a ''precision aim'' button (temporarily reduces sens to allow for better precicison)?
Price is not an issue here (I get what I feel is best for my use, and the mouse is rather important).

In my experience the R.A.T. 7 has bad optics. It will erratically pick up movement (usually down and right) when there is none. This does not appear to be affected by using different mousing surfaces.
In these conditions, watching full screen videos with certain media players or trying to click without dragging, can be very frustrating.
I've switched back to my ~7 year old Logitech G5 and don't for one minute, miss the R.A.T. 7.

No. You had a defective mouse or something weird.
The R.A.T. 5 has a lot less customization physically, you can only shift 1 or 2 things. The 7 has lots of movable parts. I recommend the R.A.T. 7 if you are doing FPS's and don't need a whole lot of customizable keys. Otherwise you might want an MMO.
The R.A.T. 7 is truly a badass mouse.

I'm back from my eternal slumber of 2 or 3 months. A long-ass time.
Oh boy, visual basic. I can barely contain my excitement.Not.
But hey at least they are better then logitechs pos products.
What's wrong with them? The only thing missing as far as ergonomic customization is pretty much a height adjustment feature. I think the RAT 7 is a great mouse for $80.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.
I actualy thought it was good.
Then my friend got one realized its a gimmky pain in the ass the mouse feels about as good as the mice dell ships with its PCs.
But you can customize it?
Great now i can change it from feels like crap to feels more like crap to feels even more like crap.
If you have tiny hands and plam your mice you probably will enjoy it but people with large hands who claw their mice the death adder feels a lot better.

I like it because I have huge hands. You can make it whatever shape you want.

To ***** more specifically its not long enough for me to claw but still have my very bottom of the palm rest ever so slightly at the bottom to reduce friction.
EDIT
I have changed my opinion based on new knowledge.
Logitech is above this I would not even let someone pay me to use a rat mouse now that I know its made by mad catz

Wait, so you suddenly consider the mouse to be poorer in quality just because it's made by a certain company? Just because many of their products are crap, doesn't mean the Cyborg RAT is too. That's like saying the Rosewill Hive power supplies are bad just because the rest of Rosewill's power supplies aren't very good.
I get where you are coming from, but why would you go from disliking a product to hating it just because you realized what company made it?
Because of the especially crap quality of products I got from madcatz. The Ps2 controller I got from them had sticky buttons from the second we got it. So we got a replacement and it never would turn on and then we noticed that port in our PS2 quit working.
I have gotten crap products from Logitech but I have yet to have one kill one of my USB ports.

I guess it all comes down to user experience then really. I have heard about how horrible Mad Catz controllers were, but I have never personally used any of their products so I have no bias towards them and can't properly evaluate their products. For me, I like the customization options that the mouse gives and would love to have one. After taking a closer look though, the 7 does have it's share of both good and bad reviews from users. However, the written reviews seem to have very few negative things to say about it compared to the skewed reviews on sites like Amazon and Newegg.
Obviously, the mouse isn't for you since you have experienced it first hand and disliked it, but I would like to give it a chance. Honestly I can only see it as an improvement over my very slim Gateway mouse.

Of course its not for me but If people come to this forum they are generally looking for opinions I am going to give my opinion of it but mice are something you need to try first hand before you buy find a friend who owns one or find a local computer store might have a show one or might be nice enough to get one out of the box.
People hold mice in very many different ways that can lead to some designs being amazing for some and **** for others.
If you buy it and like it I am glad you got a good product but I will be just as happy with my choice too. Plus I don't think I would consider spending that much on a mouse anyway a death adder I consider a little expensive.
The rat7 is 5$ more and has more customization options. The m60 has about as many features as the rat 3 but the op already said he wants more features then the 3.
On the other hand the m90 is the same price and has more buttons.

Complete worthless ****ing **** products.
Logitech I dislike mostly for headsets their mice I accept as tolerable.
Madcatz are the detention of worthless **** ask anyone who have ever purchased their console controllers if they lasted a week that person was lucky.

Yes if a company I have received crappy products from before and poor customer support I generally will refuse to buy from that company again.
That is how I feel about the product.
