I'm trying to find the G.SKILL Ripjaws X 8GB 1333 RAM, and it isn't showing up on pcpartpicker, but it does show up on Newegg. Any troubleshooting advice, or an explanation? I can't find any X series RAM at all on pcpartpicker actually. If you want to see my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6PoP
Found it :PThe x series are there. They just don't show what series they are. For any series.

I built my own computer in 2012, Specs are: Intel i3-2100, Amd radeon 5570, 8GB of ram, 500GB Hard drive, Antec One case, Z77A G43 Motherboard, OCZ 600W PSU. Windows 7 64 Bit.
Also I have a youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc9Bi9r4UPZbAWyuRKBJeoA
I like to play games on steam like Garry's Mod and robocraft.
There's really no point because every higher clocked memory would be downclocked to 1333mhz as sandy bridges can't support more than that.
Ivy will, correct me if I'm wrong. Not sure it will be worth it even if supported.

Ivy will support even the highest clocks, 1866+
Well at least the motherboards do =D

Desktop (not yet built): i7 2600k/3770k, Gtx 680 DCII/Twin Frozr III, 16gb ram, 2TB Seagate hard drive, 500R/650D. psu that I haven't decided on yet

Yeah, they have so many features on the motherboards that the processors don't even use, or is even available. Also, I decided to get that Z77 board that we were having an argument over (you win) because it looks amazing.
Thanks! I was debating getting this or Corsair Vengeance, but I can't find a 1333Mhz version if it on pcpartpicker...
I'm requesting your amazing help again Seabannana. Please?
EDIT: If you can't find it, it's fine, the heatsinks look exactly the same. Yeah, I care that much about matching stuff.
Nope no 1333Mhz version only 1600

Just want to say this, WRONG. The processor alone supports 1066/1333, it is the motherboard that says otherwise. There is not a XMP profile for nothing.
The H series chipsets will not support faster then 1333Mhz, P series and Z series support up to 2133 or more depending on motherboard settings "but 1600 is high as I would go".
This is where it gets fun also. If you buy say 1600Mhz Ripjaws X, and want to run it at 1333Mhz, you can probably tighten the times to 8-8-8-20s possibly. Because you are downclocking it, and that would actually be faster then 1600Mhz to say.
Remember this, In real life use though, you will never be able to tell the difference between 1333, 1600, or 1800 or even 2000 mhz memory with most anything you do.
If you want to go for looks, get the Corsair Vengeance low profile memory. I actually use both G.Skill Ripjaws and Corsair Vengeance LP memory and I prefer the look of the vengeance.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

I would, but Vengeance doesn't come in 1333. Yeah, I know there's some option in the BIOS that allows you to do that kind of stuff with your RAM, so maybe I'll look into that, but the Ripjaws X and the Vengeance look almost exactly the same.

Changing the speed of your RAM is incredibly easy. I actually have both my Vengeance and Ripjaws memory running at 1333MHz even though the default is 1600. You only have to change one setting in the BIOS and you're good to go.

They look so similar, I see no point in doing that.

I was actually talking about the low profile vengeance memory, not the stuff with the big heat spreaders. It's $8 more though so I would just get the Ripjaws X in your case.

I forgot to mention that that's only the case if you aren't oc-ing or tweaking bios settings.
But, still there is no point getting more expensive memory if you're only gaming, like you said, because there will probably be a less than 1% increase in performance (the fault of sandy bridge I think , not sure how memory clocks affect performance on other architectures).

41 bucks, for DDR3 1333mhz version of Ripjaws X, better off upping 4 bucks and get the 1600Mhz version. Both at newegg to say.
