I just finished running 3Dmark on my new system, it scored a Low. The score number they gave me says 'P4510 3DMarks' if anybody is experienced with this software. It did lag when it was running the tests.
I have a brand new i5-2400 CPU and a brand new GTX 560ti 2GB GPU. I'm installing a new driver for the GPU but I think I already have the latest anyway.
How does it run on games? That's what really matters. Those scores are only useful when comparing your build to other's so there is a good frame of reference and not an estimation.

It hovers around 60 FPS on Minecraft, and I've been told that's only half of what I should be getting. I'm going to test out TF2 on it right now. I know these aren't very graphic intensive games, the truth is I don't have any, I planned on getting them later.
Is Portal 2 graphics intensive? Also, I had chrome open during tests, but that doesn't effect it much, right?

Chrome is RAM intensive, I personally use Waterfox (it's a 64-bit version of Firefox) so I'm not sure about the GPU with chrome, but it shouldn't be that much. I can run Portal 2 with some shaders on and some AA on Intel HD, (I am not joking when I say I think I have a supercharged one, it can run Skyrim on medium) on my laptop, so no, it isn't graphics intensive at all. I guess because it isn't open world and the game pretty much plays like a straight line in terms of what's needed to render. Perhaps the issue is hardware? Maybe some of the slots aren't plugged in all the way? I don't really know what to say.

Okay, thanks for your assistance. I'm going to open the hood again and make sure everything is plugged in correctly.
TF2 runs wonderfully on high graphics, at least to my untrained eye, but I don't know how to measure FPS on it.

I measure FPS by downloading the free version of FRAPS (if you don't have it already) and have the program opened, but FRAPS isn't on. It still displays the FPS you get in one of the corners. If it looks perfectly fine to you, you don't need it unless you want to know for comparing and stuff.
3Dmark is terrible and should never be mentioned ever, all synthetic benchmarks should die.
Agreed.
That said, you have a similar rig to me and should not get "around" 60FPS in minecraft unless you have vsync forced on, I regularly hit 400-600+ on balanced, fancy, far and with an x64 texture pack.
My 6770m gets better in minecraft?
Okay.
Make sure that you're running fastest fps setting

What is a decent GPU and CPU tester? I had heard about 3DMark before so I just assumed it was good. Assuming = Inaccurate!
Also, now that I think about it, I might have my settings on balanced. I'm going to download FRAPs and run the FPS monitor when I play TF2, see what I get in that.
The PCI plug in thing on your GPU (I'm sorry for my terrible lack of correct vocabulary,) if that was damaged, the card wouldn't function at all, correct?

yea it wouldnt work at all if it was really damged.
also did you get the drivers from the disc or nvidia's website?
unless the card just came out you never use the driver disc that comes with it because they are outdated and come with bloatware.

cl_showfps 1 to display FPS in TF2 I'm assuming you know how to use console commands...
You can try switching Advanced OpenGL on and off in Minecraft. When it's off, for me, I get more FPS.
