What is the best display interface to use? HDMI or DVI? This would be used on a single Asus VH238H. It is 23", and has a 1920x1080 resolution. I don't think contrast would matter, but if so it is 50,000,000:1.
HDMI is basically just DVI with sound added to it. You aren't going to see a difference. If you have a DVI cable, use DVI. If you have an HDMI cable, or if you have a monitor with speakers which you want to use, go for HDMI. If you have both, use DVI, as HDMI sometimes requires you to mess around with settings for a bit, before it works the way it should.
Nope, HDMI just allows sound from your computer to be outputted from your monitor, DVI is exactly the same but cannot transmit sound. IF you got a sound system, you could just mute your monitor if using HDMI.
Ok, well, I have some HDMI cables lying around somewhere I think.

Not exactly correct, DVI-D and other dual link DVI's have a higher resolution output ability than HDMI.
VGA is dated, DVI/HDMI are (essentially) the same signal.
If you want "best of the best" it would probably be DisplayPort, but 99% of people will not notice a difference between DVI/HDMI and DP unless you use resolutions over 2560x1600.
Basically, go with DVI if you are using a monitor, HDMI if you are using a TV.
I am going to order an external sound system one day, something from Logitech I think. Would I need to switch to DVI if I did?
