Okay, I'm building a computer and I need some help selecting parts.
I have already gotten an i5 2500k, 8gb RAM, and an Asus mobo.
Now, here are my questions.
What GPU should I get? I really want a GeForce 560Ti, but I'm not sure which one to get.
What hard drive situation should I do? I've been thinking a small SSD and a 1tb 7200 RPM HDD.
Power supply?
I've been thinking about getting this case:
Cooler Master HAF912
My budget is $600, but as I said, I already have a CPU, ram and motherboard. I also have a CD drive that I can get from my other computer.
If you need any more information, please let me know.
Comes to $599.95 before mail-in rebates. I don't live in the US so I don't know how they exactly work, but I've hard it can take months for them to send you back the rebates.
So all you need now is a video card? Well there's a couple things you could with a budget like that.
The gtx 560 is a well rounded card if you're fixed on staying with Nvidia, especially the 448 core TI model. I strongly suggest buying it if your budget is limited. It's more than capable of handling current generation games.
There are rumors circling that Nvidia will be releasing their new line of video cards (which will be competing with AMD's new 7000 series cards) by the end of March. With new competition for AMD's 7000 series cards the prices for older video cards might drop on both sides depending on how well Nvidia's new line-up does. It might be best to just wait it out and it could very well pay off in end.
Save a little more and invest in one of the new 7000 series AMD cards, maybe the 7870 or 7950. One of those higher end cards would be a great purchase and would future-proof your system excellently. It would be a vast improvement over Nvidia's current high end cards as well.
It's up to you really. I suggest looking around a bit more before making a decision on a video card, prices are always dropping on current generation video cards and deals are popping up on a bunch of sites. Good luck!
Thanks for the input guys, and I do not need an operating system, but I would rather have an SSD.

I'm not doing mail-in rebates, btw, they take too long.

The end of march? I guess I can wait until then. Could you send me a link?

Why not get the Gigabyte card? That's what everyone's been recommending, and it's cheaper, but now I might wait for nVidia's new line to come out.
So I could get that same GPU for $100 cheaper? Insane. I'm patient!
Or could I get a better GPU for $200? I mean, one of the new ones.
Most likely the prices of the new Nvidia GPU's will be incredibly high (judging by their other GPU's), but the older GPU's will go down in price. If there is a price war between AMD (7900 series) and Nvidia you will see a price drop, but only time will tell what will really happen.

Don't expect to get the new GPU's cheap though.
But I could get the older GPUs like 570, because it will suddenly fit into my budget.

Broodlords are like bacon: way too many is almost enough.

The MSi card has better cooling, therefore more overclockable.
Interesting, I might do that. Over locking is important to me, after all.
The Gigabyte and MSi cards are same priced anyways.
Or I could just wait for nVidia's new line...
Unless you're patient, then go ahead.
How much would the price go down? Est
Can't be too sure. Judging from the price drops of the GTX580 when AMD's 7970 came out.. I'd say good $100+ drop when Nvidia's Kepler Cards come out.
Goody!
