Well Anandtech has manged to get their hands on an Ivybridge cpu. I will link a few benchmarks here and link any more sites that maybe manged to get some.
The cpu they tested will replace the 2600k I7 the new Ivbridge has a 100mhz increase in clockspeed so we will see some performance increase.
So the 100mhz made a 1 fps difference would like to see comparison with an overclocked I7 to see if it is only a clock speed difference.
Minor increase.
Good to see Intel new onboard GPU getting out done by AMD soon to be replaced APU.
Overall IvyBridge is just a power consumption reduction and a less sucky GPU so hopefully it does better in minecraft to and Intel does not screw up it with bad opengl drivers.
Well welcome to what happens when Intel lacks major competition they just stop innovating.
Last I heard it still uses the 1155 and old p/z67 chipsets are compatible after a BIOS update, or has anything changed?
It uses the 1155 socket IIRC it is only the z68 chipset getting support at least officially I am sure Motherboard companies might push out some updates.
Pricing will go the same route as the Core 2 processors. Once Ivy Bridge is out, it won't be long before the price of Sandy Bridge processors have doubled in price. So if anybody is looking to use an Intel processor in their next build, you're gonna have to be quick to either get an Ivy Bridge if prices aren't bad, or snag a Sandy before prices skyrocket.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.

Where did you get this from?
I mean it doesn't make any sense

Look at the prices of the Core 2 Duo/Quad processors. It makes perfect sense from a marketing standpoint. Intel wants to make money so instead of lowering prices of the old processors they raise them. This just makes sure that their latest product sells well no matter what.

IvyBridge is still not out and they are supposed to be priced the same once they do come out to the Sandybridge cpus they replace.

Well AMD is still on top with Llano and it plans on releasing Trinity sometime next month I think.
If Trinity does not show well cpu wise I might just grab the I5 2770k or whatever replaced the I5 2500k
So ****ing excited about HD4000. I'll upgrade to IB soon, give my 5450 to my sister, and then get a discrete GPU when I have the cash.
Also, all SB boards except H61 will be compatible with IB. H67 and P67 will need a BIOS update, while (I think) Z68 should support it natively.
