So I'm building a PC to play games like Source games, but also demanding games (like) Battlefield 3. These are current prices and I got my HDD when it was $50 so don't go rage mode. I only need my GPU and Optical drive. Only using Optical Drive to install OS/Drivers. I might also be using it for actual stuff though besides that. I'm thinking a Sapphire 6950 dirt3 since I was already going to get a 6950 and unlocking is a bonus. If you don't think that's worth it then the GPU has to be >$300 and Optical Drive >$25. Thanks.
Don't get a 6950 just to think you gonna get a free 6970, cause it may not work. If you flash or anything to try and unlock the locked shaders to make it into a 6970, you may mess it up and brink/damage your graphics card. Even alone, a 6950 is enough to play most games and things at max settings with fluid FPS suitable for most things.
Get the Asus $20 one on newegg, its the one with like 2k something reviews, most bought one, its a DVD/CD combo burner, does not have litesribe i think. However it is best deal for a optical drive. I would link, but its easy to find enough as is.
I added the Asus optical drive to your part list, it should appear on it now. It is most suitable and most bought optical drive i know, more so on newegg.
560ti 448 core Twin Frozr II and a LG $15 DVD Drive
reason i went with the MSI is their coolers are INSANE, and their warranty is pretty dang good if your overclocking (which you should, the thing can match a 570 EASY)

MSI=Best air coolers. I have a MSI GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme Edition which I overclocked and the thing never gets past 60 degrees Celsius at full load! :laugh.gif:
Meh, maybe, but not near as many reviews as the Asus one. In which case, you want a reliable Optical drive. However reviews are not a driving point, Samsung is good also.

To be fair, it is a disk drive.
Samsung, LG, Sony, and Lite-on are all good brands.
