When i clicked here i was hoping i would not find alienware the answer is medium would get good FPS Never ever ever! get Alienware i recommend building it your self if your willing
if it's an alienware no way in heck, you can match it for $700 tops, the higher end the parts you choose the more overpriced it gets, whats your budget? and do you think you can assemble it yourself? it isn't hard to do
You should be able to play most, if not all modern games with moderate - low fps (around 30-50), but if you put it on beasty high graphics it will lag a fair amount.
Sigh, why does no one do even a little research before posting?
I mean seriously people, you are thinking of dropping over $1,000 on something, and you do absolutely no research at all? Even basic searches would have told you that Alienwares are completely goddamn awful.
No alienware is horrible for that price and performance.
You have two options:
1.Build your own! If your scared about messing up dont worry,Newegg on youtube has a very good tutorial.
2.Buy a prebuilt that has a good price for performance ratio,try cyberpowerpc.com.
Looked up the specs of the cheapest model of the Alienware x51.
Then went over to NewEgg and looked up everything listed and if it wasn't there then I found a close replacement for it.
The final price was about the exact same price as the prebuilt x51 tbh; actually a little more if the power supply/ motherboard were good.
And with the Alienware you'd get a fancier case and have it already made for you.
So maybe not all their models - at least the less costly ones - are overpriced. :huh.gif:

700 dollar model specs:
Intel Core i3 3.3GHz
Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64Bit
4GB Dual DDR3 Ram
1TB (7200) Hard Drive
GeForce GT 545
Slot-Loading Dual Layer DVD Burner
Alienware Multi-Media Keyboard
DW1502 Wireless-N WLAN Half Mini-Card
The graphics card seems to be only included in pre-builts so I couldn't find a price for it.
So I went to this list: http://community.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu
And grabbed a card that had a similar score and wasn't too expensive to use as a replacement.

some things were just used as a price idea.
but it's the same price as the alienware one. :|
Note, I'm not saying you can't do better for the price.
But I'm saying the price seems fair for the parts used.
Except the pcpartpicker has a 300watt more PSU. Scroll to the bottom of the black box on the side and you'll see.
Home builds also have much better quality.

Admittedly, the A51x isn't the wost I've seen from alienware. The price/performance is pretty decent, though still overpriced by quite a bit.
Some of the parts you have selected could do with some changes though. Let's see:
-Old cards aren't always cheaper. For the same price, the HD6770 would be a lot better.
-At that budget, the HAF912 or the NZXT Gamma would be cheaper options. The Antec300 isn't a great case, with almost no cable management support.
-At that budget, a CX500 or the Antec Green 500w may be better options.
-Get 2x2GB sticks and run the RAM in dual channel. Costs pretty much the same.
Also do note that generally pre-built companies such as Dell try to cut down on the costs with the PSU's and such. I would expect them to actually be a lot, lot worse than the ones listed, not to mention cheaper.

Are you willing to build it if not get this.
Just something from Ibuypower or cyberpower.
Just grab a I5 2500k and a 7970.
Granted the build could be about 200$ cheaper if you build it.

Save yourself! Don't buy Alienware!

the alienware only has a 250w psu?...
either way, the one I picked is only 60 dollars so even without a power supply at all the price would still be 640 which is rather close
like I said
I agree, but I was trying to make it close to the Alienware rather than your best bet with 700 dollars. xD
