I wanna start recording minecraft vids for a YouTube channel. Does anyone use a really good, possible free or really cheep, screen capture software. It would be great if it captured audio as well.

Fraps is the best. Everything else is bad pretty much
Loads of people dont know this program yet...its called Dxtory but one thing that sucks about it. it will take up a lot of memory and id say most commentaters are starting to use it more than fraps because fraps is too CPU intensive
Frap is good, but my computer can't use it. i used total screen recorder gold, i think it is also good. It can record for hours only need my disk pace large.
fraps hands down for games, camtasia studio hands down for desktop recording. I have heard good things about msi afterburner for recording games though so you should give it a try.
Fraps, Hypercam 2(or 3), CamStudio, and Vegas Pro seem to be the most popular choices among comentators.
Is there an equivalent to Hypercam that won't false me to fill my computer with crapware that will slow it down to a snail and generally get in the way with loads of pointless toolbars etc? I hate these things.

So I guess fraps in the winner then. Lol
