Desktop cause their way better then laptops 1 desktops can have way more games and actually not lag when i open safari Or internet explorer as most call it. 2 laptops lag when i open safari and can sorta play minecraft
Not all laptops lag when you open a program. Program loading time has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that a computer is a desktop or a laptop. It depends on the specs of the computer.

Desktops are always better. But I have to tip my hat at some high end gaming laptops. I have an Asus G73 laptop, that thing will kick most desktops into the curb. Asus did a really good job with their gaming laptops.

Alienware sells a laptop with 32gb of RAM, a killer i7, dual graphics cards, and a 1TB SSDgranted with all those options, it's nearly $8000Really it comes down to how much you value portability vs performance per dollar.
RAM is total overkill
1TB SSD? Do those even exist...
$8000?!?!?!?!?! People who would spend that much on a bloody gaming laptop would probably want some decent peripherals to go along with it, which makes it crap because you won't be carrying around a gaming keyboard and mouse.
$8000... Imagine what sort of desktop you could get with that sort of money...

It's some sort of combination of 2 512GB SSD's. That's in addition to a 2TB HDD.
Yeah if you wanted a $8000 desktop you could get two of the best of everything, 3 3D monitors, an array of SSD's and still have money left over
By default the M18x is like $2000, i mentioned the specs with all the absurd overkill options.
laptops are portable, but they are TERRIBLE for gaming. especially alienwares, which cost twice as much because of the sticker on the box, and just utilize many of the same shitty components dell uses in their other computers, which are infamous for having problems.
Laptops are not terrible for gaming. I have my laptop for some of the minor games I play when I'm not home and they do that fine. Most modern laptops with an AMD graphics card even if an IGP will play minecraft fine and Starcraft 2 fine.

sure if you consider playing minecraft the same thing as 'gaming'. But even a laptop that runs minecraft on far/fancy is going to be a few hundred more than a desktop that does.

Minecraft is a game. Gaming is playing games.
I'm not saying that laptops are a cheaper way to game all I'm saying is laptops can play most games just fine my several year old laptop handles black ops just fine. Granted BO is not a graphically intense game.
Saying that laptops suck for gaming is just wrong its gaming with more mobility.

Alienware is terrible... nuff said
I know.
Was just stating that you could probably get better price:performance with an Asus laptop to an alienware desktop.
In other news, I'm upgrading upgrading my build and my brother's in a few days.
