What GringoStar said, can be quite dangerous if you aren't experienced. Start out by searching for overclocking utilities; I don't know if that model of i7 supports any software overclocking or not. As far as getting better fps in games, its probably more dependent on your graphics card, since that is already quite a powerful cpu. Some graphics chips can be overclocked as well, what do you have for that?
Since that is a laptop processer, I assume you got a laptop. It that's the case, DON'T. Most laptops are designed to just operate at a stable temperature. Overclocking could cause serious damage, espesially without much prior knowledge. Also, you'll need to get a better GPU for better performance with gaming, although you cannot really do that with laptops.
I'm glad you pointed that out, I didn't stop to notice that. Yeah, DON'T overclock it.
its a laptop processor, you can overclock them but this one you cant because the cpu clock is hard coded into the bios.
so its a locked chip. theres not much point in having an unlocked chip in a laptop.

Do not overclock laptops. They will melt and you just threw $1,000 down the drain.
Laptops to not have the necessary amount of cooling or a large enough heatsink to properly handle overclocking at a stable level without either melting the plastic case or overheating.
In order to overclock that processor you need to get a blowtorch and a welder and replace all the pins with titanium and magnesium and stuff. Then you need to smash it with a hammer and **** on it, because you're a ****ing retard.
Usually don't overclock laptop processors if you can, it will just cause instability and crashes, (don't forget overheating)
laptop processors are locked at that clock speed for a reason.

If I helped you in any way, think about leaving a +1. Thanks!
Thx
