Hi guys, I have a problem. Whenever i try to upload a file using any browser, and to any site, my laptop freezes. I tried firefox, and several file sharing sites but the exact same thing happens. When looking at task manager, i see that the problem is the browser will take about 1,480 MB of RAM, out of my 2GB, making the system very unstable. Here's the specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.67 GHz
2 GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM
Intel Integrated Chip
Windows Vista Home Premium SP.2
IE 9 BETA and FireFox 4 RC1, Opera 10, Google Chrome were used, all failed.
I also tried uploading a small file, but the same thing happens. What could cause this? It only started about a week ago. This does not affect any other computers on the same network. Any help would be nice. Thanks.
Oh hey, it's you again! Yes, I ran a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials, and even installed AVG and ran a full scan with it. MS security found some java worm, which i removed, and rebooted, but it still didn't help. I have also tried using a different account on the computer, and while big files (~40MB) still do the same, on my standard account i can upload a 100 Byte .txt file no problem. Strange.

LOL no, just seen you so much around this forum. Downloaded Malware Bytes, ran it in safe mode. Nothing. (And by safe mode, i understand, you mean to turn off the PC and when booting up press F2 and choose Safe Mode? At least that's what I did)

Oh. I see. I have a reputation, then. :tongue.gif:
Is your internet connection good/stable? Pingtest.

Yes, but it's "bugged" - I have to play minecraft thru the Minecraft Portable launcher for it to recognize Java. I tried re-installing but that doesn't help. I tried defining the EXE4J_JAVA_HOME variable to point to the Java installation, as the normal minecraft launcher told me, but it still doesn't work. That's not the problem though since it's been like this since i bought the computer.
OK, just ran Malware Bytes in normal mode, nothing so far.....
Finished, nothing found.
Could you please expand on what SMART means? Is it a program? I think it has something to do with Solid State Drives, though i may be completely wrong here. Also, I'm going to sleep now so i probably won't reply until tomorrow morning.

Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology
To run one, you'll need a program such as HD Tune. It's in the Error Scan tab.

I used to have this problem. It was because of my Wireless card (A D-link something arather). I recommended updating all networking drivers that you have, and see if it fixes it. Did for me =)

OK im not sure how to do this, but i downloaded the newest RealTek driver from, which looks like, their official website and installed it, but that didn't solve the problem for me.
EDIT: Talking about drivers, I just looked on the Intel site and updated my graphics drivers which improved Minecraft performance. Java is still being weird though.
Another something you can do to check is hop into a liveCD/USB of Linux and see if you can upload a picture that way. If you can, then it's something software side within Windows. If you can't, then you should contact your ISP and tell them the situation.

Try uninstalling Java with Revo Uninstaller at it's highest level and then install the latest update (Build 6, update 24 I think).

Open Internet Explorer
Go to Tools>Internet Options>Reset everything to default.
Go to Connections>Lan Settings>Uncheck everything.
Make sure to apply/press OK on all the windows.
Already reset everything.
Everything is unchecked already.
Thanks for the reply though. Oh, and i love your avatar :biggrin.gif:
