Most likely, at least. See, I was playing Minecraft when my computer suddenly froze and then went to the BSOD. If this had happened some other time, then obviously I wouldn't have thought so. But I sincerely doubt it was a coincidence. Now, of course, my computer no longer works.
So thank you, Minecraft, for destroying my computer. Unless anyone knows how to fix this?
When your computer is out of RAM, it moves on to Wired memory. I have a Mac, so I don't know if this works on Windows. But your Mac starts to use your HDD as a RAM disk. It isn't very smart, but it's really only meant to get you so far as to close some programs so you're not wired. Wired is also used for things like Chunks when playing MC though.
I may use a Mac, but I have Bootcamp istalled, so I also have Windows. (sadly.) Blue screens happen all the time at my school, because the kids at my school are idiots. (Quite ironic; we go to a private school, 21,000$ a year, and yet these kids don't know ****.) They drop there laptop, and it causes CPU errors and Ram issues, and sometimes, their HDD ets corrupted. Simply put; Windows doesn't know what to do, so it shows you an internet meme.
What are your specs? If I remember correctly, Minecraft caused some cards to overheat, causing a BSOD and possible damage to the hardware. Its mainly caused by computers with a shitload of dust in it, so yeah.
Perfect solution - get Ubuntu and forget about all the Windows problems.
Stop forcing people to use Ubuntu. I tried Ubuntu and it was very slow and I had to delete 30 programs i didn't need.
Yeah man, this guy is terrible at forcing people to use Ubuntu!!!! He broke into my house and threatened me with 30 shotguns if I didnt use iT!@!!!! /sarcasm
Also lol Ubuntu isn't slow. If it is, the problem lies between the keyboard and the chair. And if you want a minimal install of Ubuntu, just do this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1155961

I feel your both a fault here - One for trying to get someone to switch an operating system when they're asking for support, and the other for spreading what is likely misinformation.
I had Windows on my laptop, and I'd literally boot it up and go do something else for at least 10 minutes before the operating system was usable. Ubuntu? Instantly.
Now, for the guy who recommended Ubuntu, while it is a great operating system, it's generally not best to push people on it. You remind me of a person at my school, whom is Christian. He's always trying to convert people, but obviously has good intentions. He is largely ignored in that regard. The same will likely apply here.

Please don't explain how computers work. I don't have a slow computer at all. It is a year old and Xubuntu(?) is for 8 year old pc's.
But let's get back on topic right? ;D
I think what's causing your BsoD is a faulty video card driver.
Either delete the driver via safe mode and reinstall it again or switch to your onboard video card and reinstall it.

You probably have faulty RAM, try start up your PC with a different RAM module in? (Or if you have 2 in there try them 1 by 1?)
Also, when you say your PC no longer works, what does it do?
- Power on, black screen? Probably RAM
- Power on, freezes on boot? Probably your OS
- Power on, restarts permanently? [Various things can cause this]
The more info we have the better.
EDIT: Oh, and the guy who mentioned it could be video card drivers, try taking out your video card and using on-board graphics when you start up, if it starts fine, then you know your video card has gone for a ball of chalk. (A friend of mine had the same issue a few days ago funnily enough)

BSOD's are caused by bad drivers, not functioning properly. Or bytes in driver software not being functional for it to interfere with your hardware. It's most likely a case of damaged hardware, or a lack of update. Perhaps it could be a piece of malware causing it?... Happens sometimes when you watch the wrong kind of porn.
Actually BSODs are caused when windows runs into a CPU exception while handling a CPU exception.
Wrong....
BSODS's are caused by missing bytes, FX in the Memory. Although what you said does apply for some situations as the processor is the brain of the PC itself, it runs the codes.
No actually, I'm right. Go reasearch what a BSOD actually is. If you want me to be specific: "A BSOD is caused when windows runs into a CPU exception while trying to call an exception handler OR there is no exception handler for the generated exception."
BTW: you sound like you don't know what you are on about. Do you even know what a CPU exception is?

LOL haha ofcourse i do.... CPU = Processor & Ofcourse Exception = Unhandled code or as some of you tards call it "Mal-functional code"
...quote here...
I'm speaking a bit lower level here. Of course broken drivers cause BSODs why? because they cause an exception whose handler cannot be called (for some reason, whether it be that there is no handler OR an exception occurs while trying to call it)
BTW: when I read the first line about "unhandled code" (lolwut) it made me think you have even less idea of what you are talking about. Generating exceptions is just the name given to the thing the CPU does when it wants the attention of the system software for some reason. In most cases this is because there is an error and it can't continue unless it is resolved (some code tried to divide by 0 as an example).
Thanks for helping everyone, but my computer is toast. I've tried everything that's been suggested. So I'll have to buy a new one and...not play Minecraft again, I guess.
However, I will post the error message that I got soon. But I'm on a different computer right now, so...
1) Okay, I tested most of them. I couldn't test all of them, so I called a professional. He couldn't fix it, so I have to get a new one. Much faster to write the other way...
2) I never said "everyone should stop playing minecraft." That's ridiculous.
EDIT: Here's the error code I received:
STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x804F08CB, 0xF6CBCB90, 0x00000000)
If that helps...
So thank you, Minecraft, for destroying my computer. Unless anyone knows how to fix this?
It's chasing me! Help!
I'm trapped in the corner!
It's coming closer!
It's...
It's...
IT'S...
It's giving me a hug?
That wouldn't be it. It would just be slow when memory is low.
But if the memory is faulty or corrupt, that could definitely cause it.

By the way, "but omg thats nt 4.0 not se7en1!1!1" will just make you look like an idiot.
To OP: please give us some more info, because the memory addresses aren't helpful in this case.
