Haha, man you just gotta laugh when your internet speed is like mine.
Haha even better. The server is an hour and a half away. Man this is hilarious.
I can't play SMP, but a quick question. Any heard any good reviews on the Verizon 4G card? I have Alltel 3G. I heard from reviews that it was about 18Mbps d/l. Lemme know if you got any info.
Here is my computer with my crappy wireless connection from 2 floors above my router... Going to get a wired connection via ethernet cable. I can't wait ot see what it will do.
RIT has beastly tubes. I'm about as far from the network hub as its possible to get.
other end of campus gets 140mb/s. ON A 100mb/s LAN. HOW DO THEY I CANT EVEN
also, students upload rates are restricted, other end not so much. I'll see if I can ssh into one and post a speedtest from it.
edit - mixed success with the ssh speedtest. download rate is reduced drastically because of the hop, but upload is almost the same. both are too fast for the lan connection.
bandwidth is halved because it is a hop. those familiar with ssh should know whats up. Will run one on-site tomorrow
I have ~4 Mbits at home upload... not enough for a 20 people server they say, cant wait for glassfiber here really
My university however....:
Its a shame the speed is limited per client, we've tested with 4 people at the same time and had the SAME results, it's incredible
yeah, europe pretty much wins...
my school has a huge pipe, but the lan speed per client is limited to 100mb/s and the upload is further limited
I drool over the opportunity to run a speedtest from an unrestricted connection...
