Macbook pro 17 or whatever its spelled like... Mostly gaming and foruming.
EDIT: I also want one due to the fact im tired of linux and windows i wonna give mac a try.
However, my brother who's a fan of Macs once told me doing so can lower the lifespan of your Mac. He has a tendency to ramble but to summarize it it's because Mac operating systems are made to work best with specific set-ups, which is why they have such a long lifespan when compared to PCs even when ignoring that there are more viruses around for PC than Mac.
However with Steam being released for Mac and more and more Steam titles being released for Mac, if video games are one of the main reasons you use a computer than Macs are suddenly looking more and more attractive.
Oh, also, here's a list of games currently available for Mac on Steam.
WHOA WHOA WHOA. I knew Apples were priced highly but 2299 dollars?!!? That's just for the base, Jesus.
Unless you're buying it as some kind of status symbol (if you're the one buying it that is) as well as gaming, I see no reason behind this and agree with the above poster.
Woah woah woah pal, are you knew to computers or something? Macs don't handle gaming too well. I mean, they will play some games, but most games are designed to work on Windows.
What I suggest is actually building your own PC. It isn't nearly as hard as it sounds (I built one with minimal guidance and no knowledge of computer hardware), and it'll save you a ton if you know where to buy parts.

Mac OS X is a piece of ****. True story: I once used it. I decided to update (official software update from Apple). It kernel panicked in the middle of the update. Every time it booted up from then on, it got a kernel panic on boot. It never started up again.
I am never touching that **** again.
If you really want an inferior OS, by the way, you can install it on a PC. It'll take a little bit of work, but it'll most likely function properly. That is, as properly as Mac OS X can possibly function.

Mostly gaming.
What the ****?
I didn't knew Mac actually had any games at all. Sure, Sims, Minecraft, and games that run on source, but I can't name any else at all.

Lol, even the source games run slow compared to their Windows counterparts. OpenGL is a lot faster on Windows.
DERP DERP SCARY!

That's called boot camp/dual booting. I'm not sure on the specifics so the best I can do is link you to this page.

Nothing too exciting unfortunately :\, dual-booting probably would be your best bet. (or getting a PC)

Indeed. The moment has now been enshrined in my signature.

Why did you feel the urge to bump a thread from over a year ago? I'm sure he's already decided on what to do. >.>
