I've been working on a project that allows the user to run MCPE on their Linux PC. It offers a fully automated install and is mostly functional, with a few missing features like Xbox Live sign-in. This is my way of trying to keep Minecraft on Linux alive after they kill off the Java Edition in the long-run.
There is a native Minecraft launcher for Linux on debian, arch, Solus, probably anything else.
