How is someone who is just starting with Java to be of any use with such an ambitious project? If this were an actual project that would get off the ground, the last thing you want is some novice sticking their fingers in the code.
Yes this is an ambitious project, but why i said your skill level doesn't matter cause to me it doesn't matter. Everybody has gifts they can add to something. Somebody may be bad at coding but good at texturing, someone may be good with using MC creator and bad with art. What makes a great team is working together through struggle and mistakes. Nobody gets better by working with people that are of the same skill level as them, Variety is a good thing to have; I have all the time i need.
"I have this GREAT idea, but absolutely no clue as to how to even begin to put it together with little to no experience, so am looking for other people to do most of the work for free on this colossal project that will probably take years to complete!"
Gee. I've never seen something like this posted before.
First of all its not even like that😒, I dont want people to do all the work for me, second of all I got all the time i need, i may be a novice at some things but IMA get better, third I need people I can work with to get better, four I never said people wouldn't get paid. Last have some faith and believe in things for once. Know some stuff before you go around trying to put people down, and dont feel like you have some kind of authority to put words into my mouth and dont assume u know everything about me based off of one thread.
So what part are we working on first? How did you break down the list of deliverable parts? What repository is there so I can go get it and check out an issue to start working on? Where's the documentation of standards? What licensing structure will we use?
What all are we overhauling? Do you have some solid design decisions mapped out? Any examples of what you're attempting to do? How can I help right now? I don't want to message you on Skype and recruit a few more people.
What resources are we using? Forge? MCP? What do they do wrong that I need to change? What features do I need to implement? What fundamentals do I need to implement to make stuff later on work?
Also, most importantly, what financial gain is at stake here? My time is valuable, and without an emotional investment (which I'm lacking currently) I have no incentive to work on it.

Did not mean to offend. All I am saying is that I see multiple posts like this every week with practically the same content (someone asking for a team to build such and such), and the outcome is always the same. Nothing happens because the OP doesn't have a a plan of action, a list of requirements, design decisions, examples, etc etc.
Faith will only get you so far, you need to actually do some planning with at least somewhat of a concept before other people will take it seriously.

This is a very direct argument to someone you don't even know. Don't do that.
Also, you have to understand that it's hard for people who are on here daily to take threads like these seriously, especially for me, in my eyes it's all "here's my crazy cool game idea that I have no clue how to code so I'm asking for more people who don't know what they're doing to help me."
If you're genuinely being serious and willing to spend days, even months on end working on something that the majority of people get bored of within a week, then good on you, I wish you luck.

Nothing wrong with that, but if that's the case then trying to get people involved in starting a project with the intent to "completely overhaul Minecraft's code" may be setting the bar a bit too high. Like miles too high, lol.
This sounds really cool and I want to do it and help out.But I have no idea what or where to start with since I have no experience with this stuff, but wouldn't it be easier to start out something smaller then this huge project. All you(or we if all of us are in this) need right now is a TEAM that can help each other out with coding[if there are people with little of coding(aka ME)]. After that is established, maybe we can work on either this idea or something else less complicated then that... I don't know I'm just thinking outside the box here.

Before working into the project you have to know what the project is exactly. And then know how to lead the team.
