Being a modder myself, I know how annoying it can sometimes be to get your mods online, at a reliable source. I needed a really great host, dropbox was good but it just wasn't "Minecraft-ish". I decided to trial my own system. I was curious about how much space mod creators use so I could space out the storage that way.
I'm going as low as 100 KB because some creators just do one mod, or a few very simple ones. The 15 MB or above option covers those who have a large mod, or keep historic copies of their mods. I am willing to serve mod hosting up to 100 MB for free. I'm also designing the system so you can build a website into your hosting space. You can have mod info there, E.T.A. to your next mod update, post upcoming features, and have an index to your mods. Our download system will be constantly feed a fast download. Our servers are hosted in San Jose, CA and Dallas, TX, and run an Apache file server.
Once this becomes available, users will have complete access to their files to upload, download, backup and more via FTP, or via a web system. You may increase your space at any time, if you outgrow your existing space limit.
So, who's interested? Please vote in the polls to help us work out how much we'll need to invest into this.
