Hello! For the past few months, I have been working on a semi vanilla server that I plan on releasing soon. So far, I have designed a few plugins, made a set of rules, and have been thinking about what types of events to host and achievements/unlockables to offer to players. For the most part, the server will feel like vanilla, but I want to add a few things here and there to make the game more interesting without deviating too far from vanilla.
Before the server opens, I think there are some aspects of the server that need feedback and ideas that need to be implemented. I can't be too specific with details, but the server is going to be a friendly community type server. It will have a permanent world with a fairly big world border, custom crafting recipes, and cosmetic abilities that can be unlocked by playing on the server. If anyone wants to give their opinion on these things, I would very much appreciate it, so here are the questions I want to ask:
What should a spawn include? So far there is a spawn room with rules and info, but should there be spawn shops, a nether hub, etc.? Should players be able to build inside parts of the spawn?
What type of world should the server have? It would be easiest to create a vanilla pre-generated world, but Minecraft does have world customization and there are mods/plugins out there that have their own biomes and terrain generation.
Should there be any form of economy, and if so, should it be currency based, trade based, etc.? This is a purely opinionated question, but I want to design the server around player preferences.
