Video evidence. Note that it says "Welcome to the take home version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition", has "Xbox One Edition" in the title and specifically mentions Realms.
If it's the Win10/PE version coming to console I don't really see the Console edition worlds being cross compatible. We'll see though. Will keep a watch for new information.
My thought still stands. They will completely remove the 4j version of Minecraft and replace it with theW10 version. Likely in the time leading to the change you will see content on both line up. Then the W10 version will release, masquerading as a huge Title Update for X1 only.
Look at Terraria. They are doing EXACTLY this right now. Just look at the articles; the version the author is demonstrating has the exact, identical title as our game.
Would MS have two competing versions of Minecraft on Xbox One, with Identical titles? Of course not.
Unfortunately realms has been confirmed to NOT be included in the unification update. It will be four servers to start with minigames. What a disapointment. Just read the article on the first page of the forums.
Independent servers, run by members of the amazing Minecraft community, have been around since the earliest days of the game. They're essentially online platforms where you can socialise, play and collaborate with millions of other players! Basically, servers make it easier for you to enjoy multiplayer Minecraft and access new mini-games, worlds, and friends to craft with! Nice!
Unlike Minecraft Realms, which gives you access to a private, cloud-hosted world for you and your friends, servers are open and accessible to everyone - some have monthly users in the millions!
So this Summer, all platforms receiving the Better Together Update will then have a server browser in the Minecraft start menu. This'll let you search a list of servers which you can join right away! We'll be launching with four servers – Lifeboat, Mineplex, InPVP, and Cubecraft - with more to follow. Plus we've made sure that parental controls and other safety features will be in place, so you decide what your child can access. We'll have a more detailed summary of servers closer to the update. After all, we live to serve(er)! ...sorry.
"And Realms, the game's subscription-based hangout for worlds players want to share with others (even when they're not around) folds in organically with the bedrock edition. "All the worlds you've created, all the DLC you've bought come to the new version," says Merriam."
Considering the massive gulf in what 4J said and what Microsoft said last year, I put more weight by far behind the statements of MS.
Plus, the Minecraft article never says that Realms are not included. That section describes the difference between Realms and servers.
I mentioned this last year sometime, where the win 10 edition would replace our version, however I still believe that 4J will manage the playstion versions. I heard they were also going to be included in the cross play but declined due to marketplace issues that were going to take place.
Personally I see this as a good thing, so long as our current worlds transfer over. Last year or two I haven't been much of a fan of 4J due to them pretty much ignoring bugs with villages and villagers and other bugs that would allow farming of certain things. Hopefully they manage to get rid of all the kludges and return the true spawn rates back to what they once were.
That high definition texture pack with improved lighting looks amazing, and can't wait to play with it.
I've never been a fan of skin packs or mini-games, and from what I've read and people whom I have talked to a 'realms' replica for consoles is in the works and will be ready sometime after the initial launch of the update, however no one seems to have a date in mind yet.

I hope you are correct. The only thing I want is a Realm for friends and family.
----------->Another literally earth-shattering change: the console editions will now have unlimited worlds. "Really what we're talking about today is Minecraft becoming endless," says the game's executive producer, Jesse Merriam. "As the console editions join bedrock, there are just a number of things they naturally inherit." Console worlds today have a maximum size of 5,120 by 5,120 blocks, or about 3 miles by 3 miles. After the bedrock edition upgrade, players will be able to walk right off the end of an existing world, then keep going.

I wouldn't worry. Notice how the 4J logo is entirely absent? That means they aren't updating the game we have today. They are replacing it outright, on all modern play methods minus PS4, with an entirely new, unified code. Realms is part of that code already on W10 and PE.
The updates we get from 4j between now and the update will be to make sure that when our worlds transfer to the new Bedrock edition, nothing gets screwed up in the translation.

I have been waiting for this to happen for a long time. Finally we will get the true version of Minecraft on console(Closest to the Java version).
4Jstudios have neglected the players wants and needs. They come up with excuses saying they are limited to what they can do because of the hardware. Truly I don't think 4Jstudios knows what they are doing. They seem to mess up seed generation, spawn rates, mob caps, world size. The list goes on and on. This new version will prove that it is possible to have all these features.
Ahem. This, as of E3, is outdated content. All the features of the Better Together update (the Realms and Community Marketplace integration, the conversion of most Console Editions to the Bedrock Engine to enable cross-platform multiplayer and the expansion of world size on most Console Editions to infinite size) are correct, and have been confirmed to be released in the August update.
Now, let me clarify some issues with the other information. First, for anyone who hasn't seen the E3 trailers, the 4K update is being released with an ENTIRELY SEPARATE version of Minecraft called the Minecraft Super Plus Pack, to be released alongside and EXCLUSIVELY FOR the Xbox One X, the new 4K console Microsoft announced at E3 last week. Second, yes, the 4K update is free, as far as I've seen, but when combined with the Super Graphics Pack to be released for said update (which combine to form the Minecraft Super Plus Pack in the aforementioned text), the price of the game is DOUBLED. That is how valuable the new graphics are. Also, from what I've heard, I don't really know if the 4K update will be released to consoles that don't support it. So far, I believe the only graphics support for 4K TVs are offered by the Xbox One S and the PlayStation 4 Pro, which means the 4K update will likely only be released to those consoles. Any other consoles might not receive the 4K update.

Hate to say I told you so, but..
no, wait, I totally don't lol.
Video evidence. Note that it says "Welcome to the take home version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition", has "Xbox One Edition" in the title and specifically mentions Realms.
And doesn't mention 4J. At all.
Is this your video? or whos video?
The author of the article posted that in the comments in response to my asking for more evidence.

More news about it.
This is an interesting read. Looks like Mojang is finally moving forward with the realms to consoles and their plan to "unify" in a sense.
Sooner the better I say. Just hope our existing worlds will transfer.

Is THIS enough evidence? And at the shows end, they confirmed its a free update. NOT a seperate game.

Care to post links to this info? I've not read anywhere it has an august release date, or the price increase.
