Is it no longer possible to get water in the nether? I thought I could break or melt ice blocks so I could do some water scaffolding for a project I'm making. Is there a way to put water in the nether? Or will I have to drink a fire resistance potion and do some lava scaffolding? Thanks!
No. Water cannot be used in the nether. You could drop a bucket of water or ice as an item still and pick it up, but if you try to use a water bucket in the nether, it will evaporate with a burning sound(as if an item fell in lava). You can put ice down in the nether, but when it melts, there will be no water source block left behind.
So you could go with the fire resistance and lava idea, but the minute you forget that potion, you'll likely regret it.
