Hello chicken little... You say, the sky is falling? Hmmm...
Interest in any form of entertainment eventually slows down... that doesn't mean that it "dies" for everyone. I enjoy Minecraft and fully expect to be playing it on my Xbox for as long as my Xbox lasts (I am a person who can also still enjoy having a quick game of Tetris on my SNES or a round of Space Invaders whenever I run across an old arcade machine buried at the back of some old country bar.) IMO, people who live their lives just following all the fads spend many of their days just being unsatisfied. I prefer to discover what it is I personally enjoy and spend my days going about enjoying it... regardless of whatever the crowd is doing.
The game itself is slightly less active than it was, but there are still many who show interest in it.
As for the forum, I used to check here multiple times a day, but have dropped it down to about once and am almost ignoring the suggestions completely.
All it is a conversation on one...I'll stop there.
I wouldn't say it is dying. I just found out about these forums and I do love what I see. When it comes to games some fade not due to the game itself but more so due to the fact other games have come out. Ex: I was into minecraft heavy last year as was all of my friends and family. Then NCAA came out, Madden, Fifa, GTA V, COD Ghosts, Black Ops 2, and many other games then you had next gen so Minecraft kinda fell out of my line up. I got bored one day and now Im back on Minecraft heavy. Its not the people don't care, rather that you kinda lose how fun this game is when there are so many other options. I never stopped liking it I just ran out of time in the day to game lol
Of course the game is going to slow down a bit. It has loads of competition right now.
The PS4 just launched. Things like Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts recently came out. More next gen stuff will be coming out soon as well. There is just a lot of gaming going on right now. People aren't going to completely dedicate their time to one game when there are tons of other awesome things out there to play.
honestly i think that the fourms have slowed down is because most people are waiting for minecraft on the next gen consoles. i mean think about it more things to talk about once on those two systems... but minecraft will be in the hospital barley alive once elder scrolls online is out... you can become a king!
You have a point all of my friends (well not all) are stopping playing it and calling it nerdy, (while at the same staying up until 1:00AM playing COD Ghosts, IT SUCKS I KNOW, these forums are less active indeed less active, usually once I post something refresh the page every 5 mins and BOOM reply now NOTHING

i still have a solid group of people i play with on a regular basis
i check these forums once in awhile in hopes of the rare occurrence of a decent thread but its mainly crying and ridiculous speculation threads
Don't forget school's back in... Watch.. As soon as school ends forums and Minecraft is gonna be heavily populated as they beat COD Ghosts and get bored of GTA V.. They always come crawling back.
School is in as the guy above me said. Lots of competition with ps4 out and the Xbox one coming out soon. Although minecraft is coming out on four more platforms (ps3, ps4, ps vita, and xbox one), you could hardly call that dying.
I check the forums more than I check, say facebook. That's just me. Although a lot of the threads are full of complaints, and speculation.
Minecarft will never fully dye, it will fade. Because my friends ALL play Pokemon on the game boy now, even I started playing, which I have never done before.
it may be getting less play right now on 360, as there's a lot of new titles out. I myself am hitting Diablo 3 pretty hard.
Considering I played Elder Scrolls 4 for a year, and Skyrim for about 3 months, then MC360 for a year as pretty much the only game I played, I think it's had a good run.
And MC360 will be there when I finish beating the snot out of Diablo.
I remember when all my friends were playing minecraft.is it just me or is minecraft dying.also the forums seem less ative ps sorry for misspelling
I pre-ordered AC4 and picked it up as soon as it came out... I have yet to start playing it... stuck on playing MC.... In fact I blame MC for distracting me from Skyrim and finishing out AC3 Revelations...
Minecraft slows down but it does and will continue to pick up.
I find that Minecraft is very popular for the younger kids and I'm not talking about your typical 13 - 15 year old gamer, I'm talking about 5 - 10 year olds.
My cousins play Minecraft all the time and they love it, their friends play as well and also love it so even though you may think the game/Forum is dying this would only be because you're not in the same age group to see how popular the game is.
It's a creative game where almost anything is possible with no real objective which appeals to a lot of people because I'm only speaking for myself but I hate finishing a game just because I was so involved in it and have to find something else afterwards where as Minecraft there is always something exciting you can do.

I agree very much..
I used to have like... 10 friends who played this all the time.
I used to have the maximum players in my games and friends' games all the time. Now.. I have one or two friends that play it.. that's it.
And I don't get why. Though... I'm getting this feeling occasionally when I play it as if there's "too much to do". I played it a lot more also when it was more simplified. Then creative mode came out, then enchantments came, then villages came, then brewing came, then golems came, just kept being more and more.
Kind of like a super awesome neighbourhood in where you live which has a super awesome cornerstore gets replaced with a superstore.
I will say that the game is dead to me for now because I do not have an Xbox 360 anymore. I will however buy it in a heartbeat when it comes out for the Xbox One, which I will be picking up in a few hours.
I don't think that's called as dying. I remember when GTA 5 came out, people said the same thing that Minecraft is dying but after 2 weeks, people started playing Minecraft again. Since school has started, most of the players find it a lil harder to get time but hardcore gamers doesn't care about timing, they would play at any given time and chance.

And to answer your other question: Yes, the forums are a lot less active now than they were in the past.
