It may be just me, but does anyone else wish MCXBLA Had a Pick Block Button in Creative? I found it very helpful and liked it. If there is a reason why it has not been added, please show me? Thanks in advance.

On the PC, you can click the mouse wheel or 3rd mouse button to pick wahtever block you are currently looking at. So instead of going into the Crative menu to pick it, you can just look at it and hit a button and instantly get it in your hotbar or inventory.
There are not anymore free controls in Creative on the Xbox 360 Edition, so I wouldn't even know where they'd put one.

What about up or down on the D-pad while the creative menu or inventory is closed?

Those are already used for flying controls.
They could technically be used if you weren't flying, but then you wouldn't be able to use them to pick a block while flying because they control up and down movement while flying.

I use the "A" button for up and clicking the Right joystick for down. Didn't even know you could use the D-pad for this.

Yup. The up and down on the Dpad move you slower up and down than the A button and clicking the right thumb stick do. Same goes for left and right on the Dpad.
I guess that might be useful for precision movements but I'm so used to the other controls I hardly notice. What about a combo button ie both triggers etc...

Holding X and hitting the right trigger might be a good idea, and makes more sense. I often hit the left trigger immediately after the right trigger rapidly while replacing one block with another. (i.e. placing a repeater where dust once was) Since I do this, there must be others as well, and this could show up as a false positive for the 'Pick Block' feature. I could see that becoming extremely irritating rather quickly.
Also you should try out the fine-tuned flying controls, extremely handy. They make it a lot easier when you have to do something like place a row of blocks with a one-meter space between each one.

I place blocks like a boss using the fast flying controls. I do the same break and place method quickly using both tirggers and had completely forgotten about it. Of course if everyone just but $80 sabertooth controllers they would have four programable buttons and we wouldn't have this problem (it would still need programed into the game but these controllers are legit)

What about the Back button? I think it could be used as a 3rd person trigger and pressing LS Could be Pick Block? These are just ideas I thought ofOr maybe do something like where we could map our own controls? Kinda like PC. But like in the options menu?

I see where it could be useful, but I probably wouldn't use it very often. When I'm building something in creative, I normally have a plan in mind. When I have a plan, I get everything out of the creative menu at one time. If I miss something, I just get into the menu again. Plus, unless you have a block of the same type already placed, it's kind of useless.
I could see the use of it, though. Sucks that all the buttons are in use, though. Some function would have to be removed, or it would have to be a button combination.

I found the most efficient way to build in Creative on the PC is to lay out all the blocks you want to use beforehand and just use the pick block button to switch between them.
It's much faster than going into the menu and finding what you want in the middle of building.
That sounds like a good idea, but my builds tend to be more... horizontal than vertical. To the point that they're 100+ blocks long. It would be quicker for me to use the menu than to go all the way back to where I placed the blocks. Plus, I'm pretty quick at using the menu.
However, on small, or more vertical builds, that's a wonderful idea.
I know this is an old post but if you still have this problem in the controls menu you can remove one of the dpad controls and apply pick block to it (I use PS4 it might not work everywhere)

Describe a "pick block button"
There are not anymore free controls in Creative on the Xbox 360 Edition, so I wouldn't even know where they'd put one.

The back button opens the player list.
