Since the map is only so big, eventually you can run out of ore to make armor. Leather armor sucks and cows have slow spawn times, so don't mention it, I notice I rarely craft amor because I know i'm using it up permanently. Even if it takes months of minecraft days, hell even a year of in game days to make ore reappear, that would solve the limited amount that these small worlds supply. Normally in the pc game you just explore more when ore runs dry, well we have a small world on xbox with only so much ore so when it's gone it's gone. Help me get this read by the people in charge so in an update they could let ore respawn after like 365 minecraft days, that would be better than having to start a new world, I happen to like making one awesome huge world that takes a long time so just doing a new world is not the answer for some of us. I hate even making iron tools and stuff like that because I know it uses up a few more ore that you can never get back.
Seriously? I've found a ton of iron ore, even more gold than ever....and I haven't mined much yet. I really think people take this small world size to the extreme. Just go to creative and get stuff....sheesh
I like how I nicely state what I wish could happen and a bunch of buzzkills start saying i'm whining and just say start a new world when I clearly said I dont start new worlds like most people. I use the 4x4 wide holes to bed rock that have tunnels on each wall, and then small tunnels in those tunnels, I think it is called branch mining i'm not sure. So anyways, I already have about 10% of my world mined since all my south mines hit the invisible wall on all floors, including their tiny branch tunnels that go east and west. So I estimate all of my world will be mined in about a month, just wanted to point that out to the asses that think they sound tough behind a keyboard by saying "quit whining make a new world". Some people are seriously on their period, I rarely post on this site and it seems everyone gets pissed when people nicely say stuff. By the way I consider create mode cheating, and I will never use it on my normal survival world.

The point is, if you use diamond and iron as often as the average player and play as much as the average player, it would probably take at least a real-life Earth year to use up all of any one resource. Even after using all of your diamond, you still have even more iron to use, that would probably last yet another year, maybe even longer. If someone is a builder, their whole map would probably be a huge city/gallery of pixel art/massive kingdom surrounding an epic castle/whatever, before they ever ran out of resources.
Besides, I really doubt someone will be playing on the same world that long. Most people eventually become bored and want to start a world with a new theme. Not to mention, nobody wants a cluttered landscape in the first place.
I don't think it's that bad of an idea, and I just laugh at all of those people who decide to gang up on OP. It's just ridiculous and unnecessary, people are extremely rude these days.
Anyways, I do think that you may be slightly over-thinking the Xbox's small map size. Most likely you will never run out of iron, I know it may seem like you have used a lot and there isn't much remaining but I really doubt that you will completely run out.
i dunno, man. i think you would have to make an active effort to actually run out of iron, for example. on the world i have played the most on, i have around 3 stacks of iron BLOCKS. and that's just from exploring caves/mining around my house. probably less than 10%/15% of the map. and even in that area i know i haven't found all of the ore. i just don't think it's realistic to mine AND use all the ore in the map.
It seems like it could be problematic... I mean, where would it respawn? How would the game know the difference between an intentionally made underground room/cavern and empty space that's free for spawning?

that's a pretty good point.
Personally, I like the lessons MC teaches in resource conservation, climate change and and resource management.
there's a limited number of cows. Don't kill them all
there's a limited amount of iron and diamonds. Don't waste them.
Sometimes the world changes, deal with it.
Yeah, I don't see running out of iron any time soon. But something I would like to see is geysers that spew out sand and clay. some seeds have very little of that.
A few weeks ago I embarked on a quest to find a Spider spawner, for wool. Basically, I mined down to about the 5th level and started mining in a straight line for as long as I could. If I heard enemies, I would attempt to find them. If I hit the end of my world, I would turn 90 degrees and continue. I did this for probably two weeks, playing on average 1-2 hours a day. I went through maybe 3 diamond pickaxes and found at least 25+ diamonds, several stacks of gold, and even more iron. And this was almost all in a straight line from one side of the world to the other.
I don't think limited resources are a problem yet. Do I think about the time when I run out? Sure, but it won't be any time soon.
Personally I find this not nessesarry. You cannot just create a large mine and give up once resources become scarce. Also as someone else said, where would these resources respawn. If you devoloped this idea more and presented it better, more people would take it seriously. Also as most people who have replied here they do not share your problem. Maybe if you develope the idea you could get some attention for this but right now the idea seems not nessesarry and a waste of time to program into the game. Again, its not a terrible idea, it just needs work in order for it to be an asset to the game instead of a liability with ores spawning where they shouldn't
I don't think the ore should respond, I hope within the next few updates that the world size is increased, maybe to 2048 by 2048. This would double resources and create a much bigger world. However I am not getting my hopes up.
If you run of iron in a world, you should go outside. There are THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of iron ores scattered across the world. If you are that lazy, go into creative mode. Gawd.
Also, 365 Minecraft days is about 120 hours of game time. You have to be addicted to Minecraft for this.
PE is 256 x 256
X360E is 864 x 864 .
Anyways there are many diamonds like you have said .
Countless amounts of iron .
If it gets to the unlikely point that you use every resource in the world it's probably time to start a new map op

Yeah, molten earth has all the metals, like iron an nickle an what not, so it would kind of make sense if after months they did respawn.

Still not a terrible idea though.
