Just got MineCraft on my own 360 tonight. Problem is, I've already started a world under my gamer tag playing on my friends' xbox. When I went to play on my own, I realized my saved world isnt optional. Already invested 70+ hours on the map so it would be a shame to start from scratch. Is there anyway to get my saved world playable on my own console/gamer tag? It took about 20+ hours JUST to totally flatten out a giant section of land and throw a few castle towers/walls up...
Anyone know of/if a solution to continue my previous saved world?
Unfortunately the only way to do so that I've heard of is by modding your save file in a way that violates the XBL EULA and could get you banned from Live, and as such, discussing it on the forums isn't allowed.
Nevermind, I completely misinterpreted the question you were asking. My bad.
Do you have LIVE on your friend's Xbox? Even better, do you have gold? If you do, you could recover your profile on your Xbox, move the world onto your Cloud, and move it over to your hard drive back on your Xbox.

Wait, is that possible?
Oh man, I've gotta catch up on some Live services.

Not sure if i follow FrostyMage.. I have xbox live gold and my friend also has live. But i dont have the map on my xbox at all, so i dont understand how id move it? On my console i signed into live under my gamertag and didnt see my map come up
Isn't it possible to save your world onto a flash drive and transfer your world over that way?
This sounds like the easiest thing to do.
I'm sure there are instructions out there on how to transfer the save file from your Friends XBox hard drive to a USB flash drive. Just do that, then load it onto your XBox.
The USB flashdrive idea is probably the simplest. However, i keep thinking about FrostyMage's idea. It might actually work, considering ill be out of town for awhile. Im wondering if my friend logs into my gamertag from his console on live, maybe he can put it on 'Cloud'. Then from there, i can extract it from my own console..
Forst time using this forum, I appreciate all the immediate feedback from everyone.
That relates to sharing worlds between different gamertags.
If your gamertags owns the save, all you need to do is go into the settings and the storage section and select the hdd where the game is saved, select 'games' then find Minecraft, select the save you want to move and either move or copy it to a usb stick or (if possible) to the Cloud (if you have gold). Do the same on the target xbox but select the cloud or usb stick when you go into the storage section.
The gamesave will be associated with the gamertag, so you shouldn't need any mods or anything. Some games will not allow you to move or copy gamesaves (regardless of the gamertag ownership), but it looks like minecraft does.
*edit*
just checked on my xbox..
1. On the dashboard select Settings then System then Storage.
2. Select the device the game save is on
3. Select Games and Apps
4. Find Minecraft and select it
5. Find the save you want to move/copy, select it
6. Select Copy or Move (I would be inclined to try Copy first)
7. Choose the destination device (memory card or Cloud Saves)
To get it on to the destination xbox, just do the same but reverse the device selections in 2 and 7.
Note: I haven't tried this (I don't have 2 xboxes), but it does let you copy the save onto a memory card, which is the point at which it usually says 'I am sorry I can't let you do that Dave'.
I agree. I Tried this. This time I stopped myself from posting EXACTLY what other people have already said.
