hey guys when do you think they will intrduce texture packs to the xbox minecraft, i personally hate the default. How do you think they will work? If you have to buy how much would they cost?
They will have texture packs as a DLC and at the menu you should be able to change texture packs from there. Also I think they will cost 80- 240 ms points

They MIGHT have texture packs as DLC. They haven't said a definite yes or no yet. It's a pretty big maybe at this point.
There first priority is getting the game update and that is mostly what they are going ot be concentrating on right now.
Texture packs r cool in all but what i really want are some UPDATES!
Updates take time, we are currently working on the Bug Fix Title Update,
The 1.7.3 Update will follow after that.

Even if they were available, I'm not sure many people realize their restrictions. MineCraft was created with a specific art design goal of the low resolution textures you see by default.
To use half of the texture packs that are popular they would need to change the MineCraft engine to support the higher resolution textures - this is exactly what you do on the PC with MCPatcher/Optifine. Support for higher resolution textures is not officially included and I doubt 4J would specifically implement them for the Xbox.
Additionally, there would have to be some licensing arrangements or something made with the author(s) of current texture packs and proof the artist owns the rights to all of the textures in the pack.
o etn 1.6.6 game on Xbox and then we have to pay for Texture packs which PC dosen't AND for DLC when pc can get everything free such as mods. Totally not fair.
It amazes me how many people complain about having to pay for a little bit of DLC. I mean if you can afford an Xbox 360, a computer with internet access, and Minecraft then chances are that $3 isn't going to break you...Most people can usually find that in spare change laying around the house or kids can ask their parents for an allowance.
How about a texture editor instead of packs? I probably wouldn't mind paying 400 msp's or so for that (free would be better though).
That'd be cool, but, (Seriously), there are a lot of individual textures in Minecraft itself, and getting some of them to work would just be a complete pain. Also, don't forget that they have to tile well, go along with the style of pack, e.t.c.
Think of some blocks and items that would be hard to make, like pistons.Plunger, sides, back, Head, slime version, like GOD, that would get tedious after a while.
I don't like false promises! You guys said that the next update would be 1.7.3. Come on man. Quit lying to the good people!
how is this a false promise? It's been stated before countless times that they are working on a bug fix and then an update. They promised 1.7.3. and that is what the first update will be.
If total miner can have fan created texture packs I can't see why minecraft can't ....unless I'm missing something here. I just wish we could mix and match different blocks from different texture packs lol kinda like if I like the way cobble looks in one tp . But I don't like the way the wood planks look I could go to another tp and pick a different wood plank lol is that to much to wish for?
I can't help but laugh at the people complaining about paying for texture packs/dlc etc. You have to understand the reason it is free on PC is because it is FAN MADE. 4J studios is a company and they need to make sure they make profit to cover overhead etc... A 2 dollar texture pack could cost them a bit to make. Just stay patient. And to everyone wanting "UPDATES NOAW" just remember the process that they have to go through. They have to translate the java code to c++ then they have to adjust the code to their customized build of Minecraft and mop up any glitches that come around. It is a very tedious task for them. Then after that they have to have the update go through Microsoft. So 4J I wish you luck in this process.

Think my post is helpfull, hillarious or just plain likeable? Freaking hit the green UP arrow down there, or else.
I can see 4J making a bunch or at least copying some.
