Since this thread has turned into a Q&A thread I might as well ask this here, would it be at all possible to make anything from the adventure update optional? By this I mean when creating a world we get the option to disable certain features. I personally don't like hunger, the new combat system, the new mob drops, the new terrain, mineshafts, and ravines, and have stopped playing the vanilla PC version all together since they have been implemented (I use the mod in my sig to remove all of it). I've yet to buy the xbox version and have been holding off until I could get an answer to this question.
My main concerns are hunger and the new terrain+structures. I can see how hunger could present a problem but wouldn't it be rather simple to add an option for the terrain generator, seeing as the beta 1.6 generator is already implemented and the new one is planned to be implemented? And the PC version already has an option for turning off structures.

it would not work because of the whole different versionshey carpenter will u guys be charging us to have skins? cause jebs said it was a DLC so i wasent sure, also when will 1.7.3 be out? ik its sometime in summer but could u give me a specific month of release? thanks for all the help

I'm having a fantastic time on The 360 Version! I have several questions though
1: Maps? I can't find the crafting recipe (I Know you spawn with one)
2: Custom Skins? (don't care if its pre-made I just want Steve with a beard)
3: Less Dungeons (I found 3 side by side...)
4: an option called Classic (gives 1.6.5 Biome Generation, Blocks, and no Hunger/Sprinting)

How much time does it take to make 1 skin? I dont know, as I've only just discovered MC on XB360 as I'm not a PC gamer at all. I suspect more than 5 minutes which at the rate of $20 per hour is $1.66.
So yah, I think $1.25 is a reasonable price for 3 skins.
Now if they're skins submitted by MC-PC users, they should not be charged for unless the submitter is in someway compensated for it being sold, even if that's just some schwag.
From what I understand of Microsoft's stance on DL content on XBLA, they don't like to give anything away for free. And as far as I know, skins are all user created. The only thing I can think of that would work, would be a way to have a XBOX app to make your own skins and share them on XBLA, kind of like the Indie games.
I hope I'm not making a totally irrelevant reference, but I've always been thinking about how Minecraft's player-made content could work like Trials Evolution's. You'd have one hub for downloading player-made maps, texture packs, and skins. I mean, if another XBLA game could do it, so could Minecraft, right?

Well anyway, 4JStu is there going to be System Link added at any point? I ask because me and my bro have a shared world that we play, but on different 360s. The problem is that even though we are in the same house I (not him cause he hosts the map) get some lag. It is fine most of the time, but I am a little disappointed that I constantly have sub-par frames and.occasionally need to flip switches more than once to trigger. I know it isn't my internet because neither of us lag when we play something like TF2 on separate PCs. So, I'd love it if either online play could be optimized or get system link.
They would be better off letting us know when the update is coming so people stop making post about when it is actually coming out. Then you wouldn't have to worry about asking every day.
I have an idea... how about you add a section to minecraft.net for the Xbox minecraft. Make an account(or use your vanilla one), link your xbox account with your minecraft.net account. Then in the xbox area in minecraft.net, you add skin and texture pack uploading. That way, everyone gets what they want! Custom texture packs and custom skins :]
Not sure why when people see "DLC" they think it comes at a cost... I believe we all know DLC = DownLoadable Content... Not everything requires a purchase (Dragon Age origins I got Awakening DLC for free, Halo 3 Cold Storage map was free DLC...). Its just additional content being offered to us... until they say there will be a purchase price for this additional content I am not going to say anything... but my "ASSUMPTIONS" lead me to believe these things will most likely be free, since these (Texture Packs/ Skins) were originally made by users for users and there was no trading of money before... And I bet if there is going to be a cost, we will be informed prior to them becoming available. I would also like to state I would not be surprised if this didnt become available or they offered a very limited variety of texture packs and so on.
Hey, 4J peeps. I, personally, somewhat dislike the current control layout. Will there be an option, in the future, for us to customize our own control layout like in the p.c. version?
I was also wondering if you'd give us the option to change the sensitivity for navigating through the inventory? I find the current speed too fast.
Also, to give us a wee bit of a hint, can you divulge how sprinting will be implemented, and on which key it will be assigned. I know it will, most likely, be released with the 1.8 update, and I was just wanting to get a peek at it.

Q: will it be possible to completely customize the button layout instead of using one of the three pre-programmed options?
C: I understand the basics of why you can't make the worlds infinite (and I didn't read any explanation of why... just common sense), but I would at least still like to see larger worlds (i.e. - 4 or 9 X as big (basically 2-3 maps wide/tall)
C: I love how I can play some of my favorite worlds from the PC days of this version on X-Box... just not how one of those worlds cuts my PC home's location off with the slope into the ocean (completely changing the terrain... :()
I'm wondering, why can't I play split-screen without an HD T.V.? I was really bummed after buying the game to realize this was necessary to play split-screen with my friends. I can play high rendered games such as Halo and COD/MW, so why is HD required for such a chunky looking game? Other than that flaw, I love the game and how it's been adapted to a console.
It has something to do with resizing the screen, I think. Not completely sure though

I was just thinking that the other day. Good point, if Microsoft would allow a file share just like Trials Evo on this game it would open up so much replay value. One thing I loved in the PC version was Adventure maps. With creative mode on the horizon and so many talanted builders on the Xbox it would be a shame to only see some of these fascinating and inspiring builds in the Post your creations section.
