I was having some problems getting multi player to work so after a headache or 2 i figured id come here and post just in case people were having same problems.
1: first off, on launch day (wednesday) for minecraft, marketplace was having problems of their own as far as letting people transfer credits and actually buy or download the game. so if you had this problem like me, it was them not you!!
2: I was trying to set up this game so i could play on the same xbox w my gf and had some noob questions.
- does ur friend need to buy minecraft also? answer is NO, ur friend from same xbox does not need to buy it too!
-Does ur friend on the same xbox need to have a valid xbox live account? IF you are playing the game ONLINE then yes they do. when u start a game there is a box that can be checked and unchecked it is labeled "ONLINE", if this box is checked only xbox live users can join ur game, including on the same xbox. UNCHECK this box if u want to play w a non xbox live friend (such as guest from same xbox) and he/she can join in ur game at any time!
3: If you understand all this and still cannot get it to play multi player check these things:
- You do need a 720p tv or better to play multi player
- be sure the visual adapter that connects your xbox 360 to your tv is switched to hdtv. U can switch it on and off via a switch on the actual coord. (xbox side of ur component cable)
- grab your TV remote, and be sure youre on HD settings. Mine was not i had to change them , i put mine on highest rating for my tv, which was 1080i. It needs to be set to 720p 1080i or 1080p to play
i realize this may be already discussed but im not going to read thru all the forums. Based on my searches last night i saw a lot of questions throughout the internet so if i helped 1 person this did its job. thanks.
yeah thanks for the otherwise useless comment Mike Dreis, not everyone is as smart as u are im sure. For the record if u read the end there was a disclaimer basically stating what u responded.
