Thanks for exposing yourself as an 8 year old with no imagination! Using a mom joke is bad enough, but using one in a context that makes absolutely no sense? You're either very young or just stupid.
After years of people on the internet condemning mom jokes, you'd think idiots would learn to stop making them. Apparently not.
Can we stop the arguing? You're acting like 8 year olds.
Agreed. I was wondering how long I'd be on here before one of these threads popped up.
I have both versions...the only real advantage the 360 version has is that I can kick back on my couch and build for hours (a LOT more comfortable than being hunched over my computer desk...and I can play for longer as a result). In almost every other way it's behind.
Still, who really cares? Both versions are a LOT of fun, and if 4J can get the bugs worked out it'll be utterly fantastic.
Let's be real for a minute here..if the PC version was actually "better", then you would be in the PC forums talking with your fellow PC brethren about forwarding ports and how big and awesome your worlds are and whatever other nonsense you all talk about....you would NOT be in the 360 version forums posting pros and cons...give it up...go hunch back over your computer desk and please try not to spill any beer on the keyboard as you drown your sorrows...

So someone asking other people what they think are the pros & cons of both versions, and some people posting more pros of one version than the other, means that they are a fanboy? What kind of logic is that? They're posting their OPINIONS, and people don't usually get their panties in a knot over someone else's opinion.
And if you think talking about things that should be well-known if you use a computer is nonsense, wait until you see the amount of people asking why infinite worlds aren't present in either version, even if the answer has been stated many times before.
Pros: I can sit on my couch, or even on a chair, and be much more comfortable than if I was at a desk, like I am with my PC. Overall a better experience, and since I'm primarily a console gamer, it's nice to have everything in one place.
Cons: Not as updated, obviously, few biomes, overall, these are just going to be 1.6 complaints.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
He's a slacker jack and he's okay, he games all night and he sleeps all day.
Pros: My friends can come over to my house and we can plop on the couch and play some minecraft, smooth 60 fps, easy crafting, very easy to set up a server (at least easier than the pc), better surface generation in my opinion.
Cons: No mods, texture packs, and custom skins, 1.6, no large servers.
PC version:
Pros: Basically oppisite of Cons for Xbox.
Cons: Laggy without great computer, pretty hard to set up a server for noobs, many people think the surface generation is worse than 1.6, hate to lean over the computer to play games, harder to connect with friends, all the people you want to play with have to have minecraft (no splitscreen without external programs).
I think the Xbox is better for people who just want to kick back and play and not have to download things to get a better experince while PC is better for people that want all the extra's and don't care if they have to set it all up to play.
No Friend listing "Friend listing is XBL afaik, so it has nothing to do with minecraft."
It makes it easier to join friends servers
Hard to make a personal server "It's only hard to download a .jar and click it if your IQ is under potato."
You also need a host for the server you tard
still, its an already XBL exclusive thing
and Oh no, its so hard to /download .jar and then /download hamachi
POOF
No, its not.
in less than 50 clicks you can have your own private LAN server running, or if your internet is fast enough you can get it to your friends who live far away.
Or you could pay money per month for server hosting. still less than 50 clicks to set up, just costs a bit.
Also, you need xbox live to play multiplayer in minecraft, which means you have to pay money per month no matter what to connect to other people.
You also have to open up certain ports and such, Just stop bro. I know more than you.
For a Forum/wiki sponser your dont know very much about minecraft.
You dont NEEED to open ports, either you suck at this or your using 10 firewalls, or you ISP has minecraft.net blocked for some reason.
I have never needed to open ports for minecraft, only one of my 15 friends has needed to because of his ISP
dear nerds fighting over how easy it is to setup servers and how many kiloidontgivafux are in the map, heres what the bottom line is.
it IS hard to setup a server on pc, not everyone runs windows 7 a lot of people i know run XP still for mild gaming just because its less buggy ( whether or not u think its buggy i dont want to argue about it or hear ur thoughts bc i dont care.) and if u are not familiar w computer language or dloading programs to run a file then transferring files to a differnt spot that u downloaded etc then yes it is hard.
thats the bottom line nerds correcting other nerds until the final voice (me) has spoken. have a nice day.
Bottom line is, it isnt hard to set up a server
all you need is the server files and hamachi. Then your done.
Windows 7 is a vast improvement on XP and i havent encountered a bug yet.
you dont need to know Java and other computer languages to set up a server
For people saying that it is easy to setup a server on pc stop.I port forwarded and it didnt work i tried hamachi and my friends could not join.On xbox you click a couple buttons and wait for it to load and you can invite friends and your good to go.My pc is just a standard laptop nothing special and i can barely play even with fps boosts such as optifine but on xbox it runs completely smooth. The world size on xbox is pretty small but if pc wasnt so big i think it would be a little less laggy (correct me if im wrong).
My XBox Pros: I own XBox My PC: Cons: I don't have a PC. I Have NEVER gamed on a PC, (Other than IE requiring things like Roblox) and PROBABLY never will.
What was the purpose of this? Obviously minecraft on pc is better. But not everyone likes pc gaming...
Its not really the game thats better other than actually knowing how to craft things and updates which will come to xbox, its the community because its not like mojang makes the texture packs and mods which is whats make it better just saying.
If you want to play on just your PC, by yourself, alone on the server, then yes. All you need to do is run the server.
If you want to play with other people on your server, you need to port forward which can be increasingly difficult if you don't know what you are doing. Or you can use Hamachi which I find equally as confusing.
So no, it's not as easy as 1, 2, 3 if you want to play with others.
This.
I'm fairly competent with computers, I grew up with them...
And for the life of me - following every single guide I could find STEP by STEP, I just couldn't get it to work.
Even had a friend (who was the reason we were trying to set it up) come over and we made sure I did every step piece by piece, could never get it to work.
Don't act like a bad ass saying it's easy. It's most definitely not. lol.
Your mom, apparently.
lol. mom jokes.... gotta love it.
why don't we all stay on topic. crying about somebody not agreeing with you does not add anything useful to an adult discussion.

I am with the Xbox version.
Also, here is an awesome suggestion I had: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1745550-biome-effects/
