I tired it on ye old box screen with non-hd and it didn't work. Hd tiv and Hdmi cable ensures my co-op enjoyment. I tried a normal non-hd cable with my HD tv and it didn't work. So you need at least a 720p tv AND a hdmi cable to play co-op.
Lazy programmers who dont understand 360 hardware. Who dont care about deceiving 50% of buyers thinking they are getting split screen. Welcome to the console market, Prepare for the Hate storm. That is all.
I'm just glad that I decided to wait to buy the game. I thought that split-screen would help me get over the lack of resources from the game world being so small. I guess I was wrong again. I've been waiting for this since they announced it and I want it to be good but so far the cons prohibit me from purchasing it. Back to playing games on my over 20 year old tv.
i was upset at the first time i noticed i couldn't play splitscreen with this tv, but then i realised how small the icons must be in splitscreen, how are you ever going to see that with low qualitiy, besides, i looked for HD tv's and you can have one good TV for not more then 100€
They shouldn't take away the option of playing split-screen on a crappy tv just because of "how small the icons must be in splitscreen." The choice to play crappy splitscreen should be there no matter what. Not being able to play it just because it would be hard to view is faulty logic.
My Full HD TV won't support my XBox which decided to no longer support HD after an update last year. I've tried my other HDTV and new leads for both. Nothing. I also did all the various forum fixes and they don't work. I bought Minecraft this morning and after finding that splitscreen didn't work, I called Microsoft:
0800 587 1102
or +44 20 7365 9792 from a mobile phone
Hearing Impaired (TTY device): 0800 587 1103
Hours of operation: Monday-Friday: 09:00-22:00 Saturday: 09:00-20:00 Sunday: 09:00-17:00
and demanded a refund, as all the adverts are based on the splitscreen as the main selling point, and nowhere does it say you must have an HDTV. They agreed and have refunded me my points. They won't, however, refund my cash which I forked out this morning at the same time for the points, which is a con.
As far as I can dig up it's a glitch... My gf and I are a little angry about it but they should patch it. some people got theirs to work by forcing the 360 into hd mode, but ours is on an hd tv and not working. I'll be surprised/p'od if they don't announce it and plans to fix it by the end of the day but I've pretty much exhausted what can be done on the user end to get it to work... reminds me of BF3 launch, everything worked great in alpha/beta, come launch they f it all up.
