Introduction
Loads of us are thrilled to see such, an amazing game be released on such a popular console. However for many, including myself, this release doesn't look as great as we bargained for. Below I have listed tons of reasons why the XBOX version doesn't look to be as good as the PC. This is after doing tons of research and watching game videos.
Reason 1: SPOILERS
While watching a preview video of this game, I noticed if you go onto the selection interface, you can see all the things you can craft, with the current items you have. THAT IS AWFUL! One of the best things about Minecraft in the beginning, was that you would try to find new items, and when you did your face would be like a child on Christmas morning. The XBOX version, has ruined this by listing ALL the items IN GAME! Now if I want to make a Golden Apple, it tells me how too, and I can't give a damn idea on how. The best part of this game is imagination, it doesn't look like this version is full of it.
Reason 2: COD Kids
Now Minecraft is full of griefers as it is. But you forget, have you seen all those videos of kids trying to look cool on XBOX, and trying to annoy other players, especially on Call Of Duty. Now what do you think will happen, when you put tons of un-mature kids, who have idiotic parents, on a game that has NO Anti Grief control (for the time being), where they could "accidentally" burn down a house, or a village. The result you ask? CHAOS!
Reason 3: Nothing New
Apart from the new selection interface, which I have already explained in its ups and downs, the biggest reason is just simply there is nothing new. Same old world, same old mobs, the only difference is your face isn't rammed up right at a screen. Plus, you can not insert mods, or texture packs for the time being, therefor this game is actually not going to be as good as the PC version.
Reason 4: No Community
Unless, you have a computer right next to your XBOX, it is quite hard to access things like the wiki and forum of Minecraft. One of the most precious things about this game is working together, and unless you have the entire community of Minecraft on your XBOX friends list, writing topics about your encounters and looking things up on the wiki is going to be difficult.
Those are all my reasons folks. I wrote this purposely a day before the release, just to let you know this game may not be what you expect. I may add a few more reasons later, but that it from me! Please tell us what you think, comment!

Seriously nobody is going to care about any of these except PC elitists.
First of all, having to go to the wiki every five seconds is a pain in the posterior. Like I would have even known what a golden apple was without the wiki.
Second, the easy thing you can do? Don't add little griefers as friends. It's that simple. Besides, what COD kid is going to want to play a game without guns and extreme violence?
Vanilla Minecraft is just fine the way it is, and if you really love the PC version so much why even express interest in the PC version?
Not to mention it's not that hard to, oh I dunno, get up off your butt to use the computer every once in awhilOH WAIT I DON'T NEED TO because the crafting instructions are right in the dang game, how swell. Not to mention if you have to update your experiences to the forum WHILE playing Minecraft...then you probably have an addiction.
Reason 1: No, this could actually work out for MOST people. It will do more GOOD than BAD. Im a serious minecraft player and im actually happy about this. Especially knowing that we wont need our laptop right next to our couch.
Reason 2:No, just no. There is an option whether you can invite just your friends or public.
Reason 3: Beta 1.6.6. is where 4j started. The version will be updated. Mods and texture packs are confirmed to be updated or made available to the future.
Reason 4: Thats why we have an easily made servers and splits screens. To make up for the loss of easy reach on such a big community. You may have seen the dialog box which practically and annoyingly tells you everything about minecraft.
Thanks for downplaying the Xbox 360 version of minecraft.
Reason 1- Well, I understand the "joy" of finding out a crafting recipe...the problem is, most people nowadays just check the wiki for a specific item they want to craft. So there's not much challenge or discovering anything. It's just a matter of being told how to make something, and doing it. That's pretty much what the 360 does, but automatically. And for people that already know how to craft the stuff, it just makes it quicker.
Reason 2- Not all CoD players are bad. I myself play CoD a lot, but I'm not a **** about. Although there are some stupid people in CoD, I admit..But to be fair, there's stupid people in all games. The thing is, online mode is a friends-list only thing, so you don't have to worry about random people that you don't know, showing up and destroying crap. And if you add random people you don't know, to your friends list to play with and end up getting your stuff destroyed, that's not mojang/4j's fault.
Reason 3- Of course there's nothing new. It's a port, not an upgrade. It's meant for people who can't run the PC version properly, or people who want to play on their couch.. or people who want to play with friends, and not have to deal with setting up annoying as hell laggy servers. Not to mention they can play split-screen with friends who don't actually own the game, which is nice for some people like me, who knows someone that wants to try Minecraft, but doesn't wanna spend the money to buy a game they might not even like.
Reason 4- No community.. there's no community on the 360 itself for ANY game, yet no one's had a problem with it before. If you want a community, play the game a bit, then go on the computer for a bit. Not a big deal.

The game will still be good despite these reasons. Oh and shut the hell up about calling my parents idiotic .
idk , but i think reason 2 wont be valid because the xbla version of minecraft isint public and is meant to play on the couch with your friends or over xbox live with people that you actually want to play with (idk if u will want to play with COD fanboi`s though :P)
the real dealbreaker for me could be if u need multiple xbox live gold to play online(which hopefully will be changed) or if there is no system link support(correct me if im wrong but at this present moment theres no such option under multiplayer)which alot of FPS have.Just imagine , 4v4 epic LAN battles...
aslo , the world limit is just bad , im sorry but why cant the xbox360 run that ? i really think this feature should already be present at launch...
PC Elitists make me laugh. You know they hate having Minecraft.
All of your reasons listed are null and void, filled with wild bias towards the PC.
#1 Dumbest reason ever. Do you have any idea how annoying it was to have to open the Wiki to find every crafting recipe. And don't even lie about using the Wiki. Everyone on the PC version used it. There was no other way you'd find all the recipes. Now, the Wiki that PC users love, has been bascially put into the game.
#2 Worlds are FRIENDS ONLY! You can't have any "COD Kids" as you put it because only your friends can play in your world. 4J decided on that for the exact reason you are speaking of. If you have friends who are complete dicks and will grief everything you do, that sounds like your problem, not the games.
#3 Um, the game is a port. I'm not sure you know what that is. It's basically a copy and paste of one game from one platform, onto another. Of course there isn't anything new. It's based on Beta 1.6.6. How could there be anything new? Also, all you PC Elitists would cry if the Xbox version got something you didn't. Oh wait, we do get something the PC version doesn't have. Screenshot uploads directly to Facebook. Sure, it isn't much, but we get it and you don't! We also get Splitscreen and a new crafting system.
#3 (cont) "Same old world, same old mobs, the only difference is your face isn't rammed up right at a screen." I'm confused by that sentence. My face has never been rammed against my screen on the PC version. Maybe you should sit back fom your screen once in a while. Also, on the subject of mods, texture packs, and skins. People talk about those like they are required for Minecraft to be fun. Well they're not. I've played Minecraft for 2 years and have yet to use a mod besides Optifine. I rarely use texture packs or skins and could easily live without them.
#4 Um, no community? What the hell is this forum filled with then? I believe my point was made.
You just sound like another typical PC Elitist who is nerd raging that Minecraft has come to a console finally. You're mad that your beloved PC game will be touched by console gamers. Any idiot with a PC and a console could tell you that the console version of a PC game isn't going to be on par with the PC version. Fortunately, that doesn't matter to console gamers.
1: Yes there is almost no learning curve for MCX360 with the new crafting interface, HOWEVER, that learning curve was also a big negative to a lot of people. You NEEDED the wiki to get anywhere in Minecraft when you started out.
2. Servers will be invite only. If someone you invited is griefing you KICK. DELETE. MOVE ON.
3. Mojang and 4J chose 1.6.6 as the starting point for MCX360 because all the major glitches and bugs were out of it by this point. Mojang employees have said that the Xbox version is on an accelerated patch schedule. They told microsoft that they'd need a ton of updates to get it on par with the PC version.
4. What do you call this? The game isn't out yet and you are complaining that there is no community for it. Well no Duh. We have people trying to start "networks" so that people can play with others with the same idea of how to have fun in MC.
See how the game plays when it comes out tomorrow and then complain in a few weeks if you want.

1. Its not really a big deal to be able to see what you are able to craft. You can see stuff like this on the computer by going to the crafting wiki so all they did is put that in the game...
2. For people to join your world they have to be added on your Friends list... No one can just randomly join your world.
3. Some people do not have or cant run minecraft on their computers and might what to play. Also they will be updating it.
4. You must live under a rock.... Cool thing called the Iphone/Ipod theres even a "minecraft app" you don't have to have a computer.
just because you don't like Xbox 360 minecraft doesn't mean its not going to be any good.
edit: when you cant make a valid point don't post.
it's people like you that need a good, solid punch in the throat. You clearly put NO thought into this and typed whatever popped into your little head. Also, believe it or not, four reasons, not even considering the fact that 3 are either completely irrelevant or wrong, is not "tons of reasons." And there is no way in **** you did ANY research unless you're just retarded (more than likely) and ignored all of it and just typed out your ass.
Reason 1: I don't agree, because I would rather just play than have to figure out recipes, or waste time trying to look them up. Total Miner had a good idea in dig deep mode where you had to find the blueprints for better items as you progressed, maybe we can beg for something like that.
Reason 2: Xbox gives you excellent control over who can be in a game, so unless you really suck at figuring things out, the options aren't hard to find to prevent griefing, and uninvited guests.
Reason 3: We were already told there would be nothing new. Anyone who expected this to be a new wonder of the world, is an idiot.
Reason 4: How is stepping away from the xbox to google something, any different than minimizing the game on PC to do the same? Complaining about that just implies laziness. In addition, it's the Xbox edition, most xbox games don't have a community, and there is a good possibility that people who jump to the xbox edition full time, won't be participating in the community because of that.
Not to knock your reasons, but for a lot of people, this will be special. I like it, because I can play Minecraft, at a decent speed, with pretty graphics, on my favorite console. Being that I have a wife and infant to support, along with bills to pay for a single income family, I don't have the cash to upgrade, or buy a gaming PC, so even with the laundry list of limitations, this is going to be a damn special game.
1) I’m surprised that if you were going to complain about the crafting, you’d complain about “spoilers”. It makes crafting easier to use. So what? I started playing in 1.6.6 when I bought Minecraft and I used the wiki a lot until I got used to it. That just cuts down the time players have to look for this sort of information.
2) Griefers will only grief if you invite them or if they invite you. Keep things smart and just play with people you know irl.
3) This is Minecraft at the peak of its simplicity. It’ll be nostalgic enough being able to play 1.6, but they had to go ahead and improve the specs to get rid of glitches and make things run faster. For those who didn’t like some of the newest features and/or get lots of lag on their PC, this game is going to be a breath of fresh air. As for the whole side of no texture packs or mods, that’s fine with me. Mods would make the game full of bugs and this is supposed to be the high-end of 1.6. I can see where you might get mad about texture packs though. I feel as if they should’ve at least included some of the most popular ones like Dokucraft, Coterie, or Painterly but I’ll settle for default.
4) I can’t play minecraft with my irl friends because they either don’t have minecraft or find it awkward to have to play via a server with terrible amounts of lag. It’s true that the community is downsized for this version unless you’re willing to open your world up to strangers who might grief but it makes things much more personal between irl friends. I really hate showing people how to play minecraft on my computer because it lags and it’s hard for them to understand what to do if I can’t demonstrate things at the same time they’re attempting it. A split screen on minecraft will fix that.
I don’t really see what makes you hate on the 360 version to be honest. If you’re reliant on mods then stick to the PC version. If you want less grief, make your members feel wanted and like they’re a big part of it. You could do that on the PC or 360 in complete vanilla simplicity.
Has anyone heard of the thing called Minimizing the wiki while playing Minecraft, then when your stuck you can Press the windows start button to minimize minecraft and look up on wiki real fast!?
