i saw that there's no instruction about installing a texture pack on MC:PE on Android. I try to explain it, but my English isnt't very good, so sorry.
You don't need root access.
It's a bit harder than on iOS devices
Step 1: Download and install the Astro File Manager
Step 2: Launch the File Manager and select "Application management"
Step 3: Check the box with the title "Minecraft Pocket Edition"
Step 4: Select Backup
Step 5: Now go back to main menu and select "File management"
Step 6: Go to /mnt/sdcard/backups/apps
Step 7: Copy the terrain.png into the folder of Minecraft PE and replace the terrain.png in assets.
So, you should have now a .zip file with a modified terrain.png
Step 8: Now you can close the Astro File Manager and download and install ZipSigner2
Step 9: Start the app and touch on "Input"
Step 10: Now select the .zip file of MC:PE in your /mnt/sdcard/backups/apps folder
Step 11: Now you just touch on "Sign the file" and wait, until the process is finished
Step 12: Remove MC:PE from your device and install the modified .apk file, which you can find in /mnt/sdcard or in the folder /mnt/sdcard/backups/apps
Now you have a modified MC:PE with your own Texture Pack.
Astro doesn't appear to want to touch MCPE on my Motorola Xoom; I select the app and tap the 'backup' button, nothing happens, and the app doesn't appear in the 'backups' list. App Backup and Restore also fails to back up MCPE.
1. Go to Settings - App Manager and find PT Free or Paid
2. Tap it and force stop it.
3. Than go down and click "Delete Data" and "Delete Cache"
4. Open any file manager. (I recommend Astro from Google Play Store)
5. Navigate to Android - data - com.snowbound.pt
6. Long click - Delete
7. Go back to Pocket Tool in the App manager and uninstall PT
8. Start the Google Play Store and look for "PocketTool free" and install it
9. You are done!!
After deleting the data and cache, there's no 'com.snowbound.pt' folder to delete, and when I reinstall PocketTool, it still crashes when I go into the 'Change Textures/Skins' function from the 'Tool Kit' option.
I also made a video showing how to install on android. However a recent update to Astro has left us unable to give users an easy way to install on android. Zipsigner works. Texturepacks easily install on iOS using iExplorer 3.0.
Mojang needs to give us 3rd party TP support really.
(Astro can no longer copy into a backed up .apk shame as it that method quite easy to follow)
I Cant install TP's to Minecraft, because i downloaded Minecraft off of 4shared onto my android. So when i follow how to install Tp through PocketTool toward the end when it wants to uninstall and install again, it says that it failed to do so.. Please help?
ok...i have absolutely no idea what i just did...i think i broke something...like around step 5, for me the app did not have a ..caption,button,thingy that said file management..unless its hidden somewhere...if that makes any sense...if someone could explain this it would be very helpful and greatly appreciated
