Okay, so what about Android then? Where are the snapshots/updates for that? I know that Android tends to get things later than IOS but come on, Android has the majority in the market right now. and All I've found is 0.8.1. and don't say search, I did that first.
Hopefully the next update is for bug fixes because people are saying that there are still a lot of bugs. I know they added a whole ton of stuff, but doesn't this update seem a little bit "rushed" to you? I'm excited that the update is coming out but I could stand waiting another week if it meant they could fix some of the bugs that are easy to fix.

It's actually the opposite. iOS tends to get things later than Android.
The snapshots are only on Android, so I don't know what you mean by where are they. As for the official update, it has NOT come out for either platform yet. It has been submitted to iTunes, but it has to go through Apple's long approval process first which could take anywhere from a few days to over a week. Android doesn't take as long to approve apps. I mean the snapshots only took a few hours at the most to be approved.
It's worth noting that Mojang wants it to be released on both platforms at roughly the same time, so when he says it depends on Apple's times he means so they can let the Android version be released on the Play Store since it'll already be approved by then. After an app becomes approved they can choose to hold it from actually being released until whenever they want. Like for instance whenever Apple approves it.

Thank you for doing a good job explaining it! Everyone can probably remember one time when they or someone else was confuded , I feel you probably cleared alot of that up!
Actually I was stating how many times programmers tend to submit to IOS before even thinking about an android port (or it used to be that way.), on top of that many times the Android port is a recode of the IOS app with the exact same interface which I find ugly on an android system,(sometimes it makes it buggy at that) but that is not the point here. I was asking where the snapshots are stored so that I can try them and assist with the bug squashing. Edit: Nevermind, I figured out how it works and found it with a little different searching. Ignore my ignorance.
Anyways, is it just me or does it seem like the extreme hill biomes are from 1.6 and not 1.7? Because isn't there supposed to be way more patches of stone and at least some snow-covered peaks?
My question is why this post has outdated information. The update has been submitted and is awaiting approval. Also, some of the features are not listed, such as infinite and superflat worlds. I used to rely on this thread but now... what happened mate?

Well, it's not the maker of this thread's fault. He also has a life outside the Internet.
What?! There's more to life than Minecraft pocket edition?! Heresy! That man is a traitor and an asset to the Minecraft clone alliance! Take him away...

I'm in the navy and don't play as much as I used to but I'm still a fan. Always scrolling... Watching... Mining...
I think they shouldnt put a lot of things in an update, i mean for example infinite worlds can be an update, caves can be another update, flat world can be a 3rd update... So that we wont have to wait for updates a long time and we wont get bored. I think everyone is getting very exciting for the first 2-3 weeks after the release but then they dont play it. But if they would release an update every 2-3 weeks, we would never get bored. Of course the time can change, clouds shouldnt take more than a week or so, but redstone can take 5-7 weeks.
Lol builds 9-12 were released where were you
