I know this a commonly asked question, but for some reason I am still not able find out how to great a completely randomly generated biome.
If u can help, leave a comment below
Yeah, I looked at your code, but I couldn't install your mod or understand it (probably because my brain is to small)
I will try installing it again...
and try to enlarge my brain
OK at last, the more biomes mod worked! YAY!!! But can u guide me a little through making biomes(my brain enlarged by 0.000000000000000000000000000000001% also yay)?
Planning to make a biome thats one layer(as in one layer of custom block, and underneath it is dirt then stone then ores then bedrock then void then nether then whatever) with a typical minecraft biome size
You have to replace every value you would normally define to make your biome (lenght for example, or x, z, and so,on) by a random value.
What I mean is :
Define a random lenghth for example.
Then with another for(), do the same operation several times, for example if your lenght is 16, it will repeat the operation for x+i 16 Times with i increasing. Same with the width
Is this all clear ? Cause My english sometimes... Fluctuates. :3
ok, got that down, but wouldn't that make a square or rectangle instead of a random shape???
o i see, basically i did they same thing, except the var min and max are just numbers, symmetry still sigh, can make it not, got a plan, but it will take like 300 lines of code
well what i have in code right now is randomize the width aka the z, each width row length is randomized, and I made it s from the center , it setTile (x,y,z+1) and setTile(x,y,z-1) and so on, everytime it set the 2 tiles, a variable to +2 until the variable is equaled to the randomized number, but as u might be able to tell, I set the same tiles at the same space from x, x-1, +1, x-2, x+2 etc. so because i set the same stuff, its symmetry(was that confusing???)
its n0t perfect, but this is the most random i can get it to without adding 7 billion more lines of code with if and else ifs
hummmm... I just thought of a way to make it not symmetry, but I have to double the code(randomize the negative z and positive z)
instead of +2 whenever I setTile of - and +, I will seperate them
let see how that works
yeah, but what I am supposing is, that its much harder, is already kinda difficult, but soon we will have to someway make it spawn in reach of the player and make probably more then a few for infinite world type... BTW can we detect the world type? as in old, infinite, and flat
true, gonna to try some ways, its really hard for infinite... u need new spawn new biomes when new chunks load, and reachable, but u never know if the player walk to 6000000000, 800000000000000000000, 999999999999999, and one biome already take u to ten minute to be randomized(for me), what will this take 24hr or use modTick to lag the player out while he is going toward the new chunks??? I just don't even know
