Ok guys, there has been a lot of debate between MC:PE and Survivalcraft.I am creating this thread to hopefully stop the wars going on between the 2 games/apps.Now, everyone has their own opinions, so I want this to remain friendly and on topic.I don't want to hear anything like "Well MCPE is better" or "No Survivalcraft is the best and MCPE will never catch up".Again, everyone has their own opinions, so be respectful of everyone else.Gameplay DifferencesIf you prefer to dominate your land, and work with limited resources, then MCPE is for you.MCPE is more like the Classic version of minecraft with 256x256 sized world, however it does maintain most of the current MC blocks and items from the current version of minecraft for PC.When I say dominate your land, I mean creating a safe, mob free environment so you can safely wonder around.Minecraft Pocket Edtion, much like Minecraft PC and 360, is a fantasy type game. It contains mobs such as zombies, skeletons, giant spiders, and zombie pigmen, as well as the famous explosive creeper pal.Minecraft is often considered a midevil version of lego's because it is a world made of blocks, and most of the time you see buildings such as castles, dungeons, etc.You may also see some futuristic builds every now and then, but for the most part it is midevil builds. If you like to explore vast and endless worlds, swim with sharks, scale down caves, and like "Redstone", then you may enjoy Survivalcraft.Survival craft is much more like the PC version of Minecraft, with the endless worlds, texture pack support, and not to mention it has a great amount of depth to the overall gameplay. It has a crafting system similar to the PC version of minecraft where as MCPE uses the MATIS system which just contains a pick and choose menu.Survival craft contains blocks and items that you would normally see in some mods in minecraft such as LED's, electronic gates (XOR, AND, etc.), saltpeter, malachite, limestone, granite, basalt, etc.It has a more advanced crafting system where you must do some extra steps to make your items (This is what I mean by depth).Example in MCPE to make TNT you need 4 sand, and 5 gunpowder, gunpowder is premade and obtained by killing creepers. In Survivalcraft, to obtain TNT, you need to get coal, sulfer, and saltpeter. Combine 1 of each item to create gunpowder. 1 gunpowder + 2 wood planks will give you a small TNT barrel which is enough for a 3x3x3 area. 2 gunpowder + 4 wood planks gives you a medium TNT barrel which covers a 5x5x5 area, and 3 gunpowder + 6 wood planks gives you a large TNT barrel which covers about a 7x7x7 area. You must also use 1 sulfer + 1 wood stick to make a match to light the barrel. There is also the choice of using an electric detonation charge to instantly detonate the barrel.Survivalcraft has more of a realistic feel to it. The sun/moon/stars/clouds look great, and the default textures are not all that bad. While MCPE does beat the default textures in that aspect, you can always download and install new texture packs from in game with survivalcraft in the get content menu.
Graphics Differences
Minecraft Pocket Edition doesn't use much graphics memory and is therefore compatible with lower end devices. The overall graphics are not as energy consuming either, so minecraft pocket edition also beats survivalcraft in that aspect. With survivalcraft, there is several caves, the option to use HD graphics (MCPE has this option as well), and is more CPU intensive. While it plays fine on the iphone 4 and up, the ipad 1,2, and mini, and the ipod touch 4th gen+, it is not recommended for lower end devices. Because of many of the features such as caves, sun/moon/stars/realistic clouds, it can be slow at times, or on slower devices, can even freeze. While both games offer HD texture packs such as photorealism, only Survivalcraft has full support for the texture pack system, where as MCPE requires file editing.
Quality Differences
Now, this is where the biggest debate kicks in with both games/apps.A lot of people tend to say MCPE has the best quality, while others say Survivalcraft is better. After months of gameplay on both games, comparison of all features, etc. and even talking with kaalus via wordpress PM system, I have come to the decision that both games are equal as far as quality. Both games have great aspects, and terrible downsides. One thing to remember is that both games are coded differently, and for MCPE, it is an even bigger coding difference from the PC version.A lot of people say that all mojang has to do is port the game, but this can't be farther from the truth. PC version of MC is coded in java, while the MCPE version is mainly C++ with a little Objective-C.MCPE does update rather slow, but you need to realize that they also have the 360 version, and the PC version to work on, and PC version is their main priority.Survivalcraft is mainly Objective-C with a bit of C++. Survivalcraft tends to go more towards the realistic look with player and animal modles, while MCPE retains the classic block shape. The PC version of MC has a huge team, and the PE version of MC has about 7 people. With survivalcraft, it is just the 1 guy, and the updates come out about the same speed as MCPE if not just a little faster. So overall, the quality of both games is the same, there is no difference in quality, just a difference in opinion.Main Gameplay FeaturesWith MCPE the main features are the same as PC version, with the exception of redstone, enchanting, potions, the end, the nether, and a couple other minor details. While it does have a nether replacement, it is not the true nether. MCPE also contains multiplayer, although as of this post, it is not fully up and functioning, and is currently limited.Survivalcrafts main features is the infinite worlds, caves, electronics systems, and in depth gameplay (video comparisons will be posted at the bottom of the post).Survivalcraft will have multiplayer eventually, but it is currently not the main priority on Kaalus's to do list.
HUD/UI Differences
The hud is probably one of the biggest things I see brought up all the time.People always say that in survivalcraft the hud gets in the way, or the controls are weired, etc.If you play Survivalcraft with the controls set to:Move control mode: PadLook Control Mode: EntireScreenFlip Vertical Axis: OffAuto Jump: OnThen the controls are the exact same as minecraft pocket edition. The only difference is the fact that you are using a pad rather than directional. If your having problems with the controls, use the settings that I stated above and you will have absolutely no problems.Another tip is to go into user interface and set the UI size to smallest. If you don't like the pads getting in your way for the controls, you can hide them through this menu as well.People also say MCPE has a better hud. While this can be arguable, the huds are no different from each other, except for the fact that Survivalcraft has a couple extra buttons. Now on a smaller screen it can tend to be a problem depending on what your doing, however from my point of view, as well as the people I have talked with, it is no problem at all a majority of the time.Another difference is with the Hotbar. When selecting items from your inventory in MCPE, the last item you selected will be the first item on your hotbar. Also, there is no way to organize your inventory unless you have access to a chest. With Survivalcraft, you can drag and drop items to your hotbar, and they will remain where you put them. You can also drag and drop your inventory to organize it, without having to access a chest.PricingThe current price for MCPE is $6.99, but if you love the PC version, you will get your moneys worth. It is a highly enjoyable game, with overall great quality. Again, while they updates may be slow, the wait is worth it.The current price for survivalcraft is $2.99, but you will not regret buying it. As stated above with MCPE, the same goes for survivalcraft. My recommendation however, is if you can afford both, then buy both. They are equally amazing games, and both are very afordable. If you have $10 to spend, then go with my recommendation.
Ratings
MCPE is currently the #3 app in the app store for ios. I can't speak for android since I do not own one.It is currently rated 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. Again, the rating matches the overall great experience with the game.Survivalcraft is currently the #17 app in the app store for ios, once again, I can't speak for android. Unlike MCPE, survivalcraft is also available for window's phones, but I can't speak for them either since like android, I don't own one.The current raiting in for it is 4 stars out of 5, however, it recieves negative views from MCPE fans who claim it to be a clone and give it 1 star raitings and poor reviews. If you disregaurd these posts, survivalcraft actually stacks up the a 5 out of 5 star app/game. Again, it matches with the gameplay, overall quality, but mainly the depth of the game.
Demo Differences
For MCPE, the demo is currently still on 0.2.X and has limited gameplay for survival, creative, and multiplayer. In survivalcraft, the demo is fully playable, is up to date, and is not limited at all. It does however have a time limit, but it gives you a long enough amount of time to get the overall feel of the game and the general experience of it.In both cases, you can not save worlds in the demo version.
Video Comparisons
Here you can see some videos about the differences in gameplay, the depth, etc.

Both games are great in their own ways, and both games have their downsides.Whether it be price, depth of the gameplay, items, experience, features, etc. they are completely different games. They are both coded differently, by 2 different companies. One thing you must remember, is that any "Clone" of MCPE is either taken off of the app store, or the company is sued. Survivalcraft doesn't fall under the clone catagory because of the fact that it has a different feel, gameplay experience, etc to it.Now there is a lot of people that call Survivalcraft a clone of MCPE or MC in general. Now while MC is technically considered an original, it was not the first of it's type. Before MC, there was Roblox, before Roblox there was Lego's. Lego's practically invented the "Block" toy/game age.Another thing is, a lot of people who call Survivalcraft is a clone of MC, don't really know the truth behind MC.MC was an idea that originated off of a game called Infiniminer. Infiniminer originally got its idea from roblox and added the "mining" system to it. And again, roblox started off as an idea for a digital lego game. All in all, Survivalcraft is an idea, that originated from an idea, that originated from aother idea, that originated from an original idea, that originated from a real life toy.Confused? Let me shorten it for you.Survivalcraft isn't a clone, but it is an addition to the "Voxel Video Game" genre.
TL;DR
For those that think this post is too long and boring and didn't care to read, here is a simple list of pro's/con's of each game.MC was an idea developed by Notch after he saw Infiniminer, so therefore MC can be considered a clone of infiniminer.SC is NOT a clone of MC, it is a game created from the idea of minecraft.SC and MC are both games in the genre of Voxel Based Video Games.

FacePalm
Due to the fact that the facepalm quote was overly large, and can possibly be seen as an argument starter/flame post, I have decided to remove it to prevent problems from arising, and to save space on this main post. Told you I would get one up, so I spent a good hour wording this out and posting it as well as all the details, searching for decent video links that followed forum rules, etc.

Thanks. Was giving me a headache having these guys fight all the time. Since no one else posted the differences, etc, I thought I might and get the wars ended sooner rather than later.
Also, why wait for lightning to strike it? (Although it sounds cooler and funnier).
I just take a few matches, wait till they land, run up to them, then set them on fire. In the end, I still get my cooked bird!
