Addons; "The first step to better modding". Oh please, BETTER modding? The way modding is now is a working system. It's not perfect, but I wish Mojang wouldn't have put their foot into it. I understand Mojang is obviously wanting to move onto developing another game, and making modding easier is a great way to, dare I say, stop developing the game. Jeb has said that they will have to "draw a line in the sand saying this is the game". So addons for MCPE are the first step? Maybe they say it is, but let's face it, addons kind of suck. You can only edit things that are already there, and only mobs at that! So can addons change to game? Yes. Are they the first step to mods? Yeah..? Are they good? Not really. What do you all think? Do addons rock or fail?

Most people out something interesting down here. I don't, so don't bother looking here.
I see add-on's mostly being used for minigame maps, similar to Alien Invasion. I don't really perceive them as something that you would want to use full-time in a campaign or survival game. There is no way that by making a few changes to a JSON file that you are going to be able to replicate a PC mod such as "Biomes O' Plenty" or "Tinker's Construct". They are a step in the right direction, but they still have a way to go.

I'm glad to see someone as reasonable such you on an anger filled internet. Maybe in a year or so we'll get fully integrated mods 😃
