My daughter just had a scary experience with a 'monster' that was lurking somewhere in her Minecraft world. She told me she doesn't want to play it anymore and asked if i can make sure she doesn't come across such scary situations anymore. I'm new to the game and need some help/advice from you guys please.
Currently, i think she is just loading a random world by default when she starts a new game. Is there a list of seeds that are suitable for young girls that i can somehow save into our Minecraft PE which she can load up everytime she plays?
Would really appreciate any suggestions or tips. Thanks.
Whether or not you encounter monsters does not depend on the seed of the world you are playing. The seed determines the terrain of the world that you are playing in. The creatures (also called mobs) that are passive (pigs, cows, sheep, chickens) and aggressive (zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers, endermen) all spawn naturally into any seed that is a survival mode game.
In the options, you can change the difficulty level to its easiest setting to stop monsters from appearing and your daughter can continue to enjoy playing in survival mode (searching for and mining scarce resources as well as building structures). She can still hurt her player by staying underwater too long, setting her player on fire, falling into lava or falling from too high a height. Changing the difficulty setting works for any world in survival mode and you can change the difficulty up or down at any time, so if she wants to try fighting monsters again you can increase the difficulty later.
Another alternative is to make a new game in creative mode. In creative you have infinite resources, cannot die and will never be "surprised" by monsters because they do not naturally spawn into the world. You can spawn monsters into your world, but they won't attack you.
Unfortunately, right now worlds cannot be changed between creative and survival.
Second everything rplatham said. I'm also new to Minecraft, so I've been playing in "peaceful" mode (easy difficulty) for weeks and haven't seen a single monster. The other good thing about peaceful mode is that your health regenerates. So, if she does make a mistake and her player falls off a hill, she won't need to go looking for food to restore health points. She would just need to make sure she didn't do anything dangerous while her health points regenerated (and it happens pretty quickly). If you're looking for a good seed for your daughter to have a fun starting up again in Minecraft, I got a fantastic seed on a random generation: 1428165346. Player spawns on an open plain with birch forests nearby, and a lot of other biomes are very close. Easy building, fun exploring.
