If you get it in singleplayer its because you don't have enough ram, try to play on a server or if you have a second computer, setup a server on that and connect as a client, some computations will be done by the server freeing some ram, cpu and disk for you.
If you have enough ram try to put as JVM arguments -XmxNG where N stand for the number of giga of ram you want to give, is also possible to specify the ram in mega using M instead of G at the end of that argument.
Playing with latest snapshot vanilla myself I need to use 2 giga to play decently.
That is because your device is running out of RAM. RAM is where your PC/Mobile Device stores all the currently running programs. Here are some things you could try:
Lower your render distance. If it is on high, put it on medium or low. You should really only be using the highest render distance option if your your phone is pretty current. Some good examples: HTC One M8, Nexus 5, iPhone 5s. Some bad examples: iPhone/iPod 4, Moto G/E, pretty much anything over a year old.
Close apps. If you don't know what I'm talking about, when you press the home button, the app is still in the background eating up RAM. Double pressing the home button on iphones and some Samsung and LG phones or tapping the multitasking menu on other android phones will show a list of apps running in the background. Swipe it away to close it.
Wait for 0.9.1. The devs have tweeted that they have fixed it and published it, but the app stores haven't brought it out yet.

I have a question, is the server in Minecraft Pocket Edition is eating memory of your phone?
