So I took some pics of the things I found and noticed while I was able to look around. First of all I didn't use the seed name option, just a random Infinite world. The world I landed in my as well have been water world took me ages using the stop and go tactic to just get to another island.
The first Island I found I'm naming Mushroom Island:
Yes it was very dark when I took the picture but this is where the Mooshrooms and tall mushroom trees are.
Next, after another semi long swim, I finally found a cave... and let me tell you it WAS a cave! I'm still getting lost in the dam thing. My first surprise in here was I'm assuming another glitch:
In-case it's too dark to see, that's a mushroom growing on rock soooo... yeah strange. Anyways, I'm about to go in to story mode here, as I descended further down into the cave... I crashed. Upon restarting the world I found LAVA! I'll show you in a bit why I think the lava may be causing either the slow choppy freezing or even the crashes.
So in this cave I found the abandoned mine shaft! Really awesome cause it's like someone's just cleared out a lot of the unnecessary blocks and left you all the coal, iron, gold, redrock, diamond (YES!) plus random train tracks. Oh and all over I found these:
Can you see them? Here's a closer look (as well as something extra)
Those sticky spiderwebs! So I learned something, where there's a big clump of the things then there's probably a monster spawner near by. I think my having the No monsters option on is why there in a cage. I also found something nearby this monster cage:
A hidden chamber with chests! And they had items in them! mostly some iron, a bucket, some hay, and a loaf of bread... that's about it and further inside this chamber was...
another monster cage. Another bit of info, you can't collect these but you can destroy them
So now to the big lava problem. Every time I came near the stuff I'd crash and the further down I went into the cave, the more I'd find and then this:
A huge river of the stuff! So I did the only thing I could think of, I tried to drown all of it! There was also a lot of water down there. The drowning didn't work cause after a while I just crashed and gave up.
But I've learned about some other big issues along the way all seeming to revolve around memory. Now let me say I have over 800 MB's of free space on my ipod and I didn't run any other programs while I played. Every time I crashed I'd check the size of the world. It started out fairly small:
but as I moved around and saw more of the world the size jumped up
Now here comes the problem part. A few times when I crashed the size would drop:
and In world I'd either have lost items or gone back a few paces then where I had been. At one time I had made a double chest, then I crashed and half of it was gone. So yeah that's a problem. There's also an issue with that trick everyone uses to get extra blocks. I was only able to get one extra and after that it crashed twice... so... I'm thinking if the developers did fix that trick/glitch then maybe they created issues in the process.
Other than all this, it still is really awesome. The infinite worlds really are infinite! Maybe next time I'll find a Village or try interacting with the new monsters.
yes I've got it all down to lowest possible level. Difficulty down, View distance; down fancy graphics, beautiful skies, and animated water off. I even deleted some apps to make extra space on my ipod. Nothing is working, the update is just glitchy.
