Does it spit out any gold? Perhaps enough to make up some of the lost gold you used building the reactor?
No. Zombie pigmen drop some gold ingots, but not enough to compensate for the gold used. Best bet is to try and mine out the gold blocks once you start the reactor. Most times I can get 3 back, I think only once out of about 15 tries I managed to get all 4. You do have to be quick and accurate.
@everyone that asks for release dates: we don't have them! We have for sure a timeline we would like to follow... but we want the freedom to say *screw that* and release weeks before or after without people complaining, if there are valid reasons. So, unless everything is pretty much finalized (ie. coming out in 1 week or so) you won't have a deadline from us, sorreh.
As for exploring the tower left behind there are no stairs and its always random, I've done it 3 times and they're all different, my next test is to make one in multiplayer and activate it to see if it affects someone who is far away but on the map. As for forcing other mobs to spn they just need a dark space, which makes me wonder... supoose there an anumal next to the reactor wghenit goes off, would it despawn? Iive got tests to run!

I'm in the navy and don't play as much as I used to but I'm still a fan. Always scrolling... Watching... Mining...
Having a really difficult time with the gold,, I've mined back and forth across the entire map about 3-4 times and I still don't have enough, No shortage of diamonds, though.
The required amount of gold should be reduced, in my opinion.
Really looking forward to using it, though. Looks really cool.

Don't you think 36 ingots is just to much? Well, I could say the same for the Nether Portal by collecting 10 Obsidians but atleast you can use it as many times as you want. Question, can you only activate it with a sword, still in the progress of finding gold so I'm curious but in Johan's vid he hit it with an iron sword. Sorry if this question was already posted.
No, you can in fact activate it using any item, even your fists.

What I have confirmed by accident is that if there is a mob, hostile or friendly, that occupies a space that the obsidian will occupy, it will suffocate when the reactor is activated and the obsidian is generated. If it's in space that is air, I don't think it will affect it, but that one I haven't confirmed, intentionally or accidentally.

They will indeed vanish. I was being attacked by a zombie when I activated my reactor. It did vanish after a couple seconds.
Hey guys, here are some updated pictures after experimenting.
Oblisk before it self destructs (Destroy the core immediately after activating):
Core that has been activated, then removed and replaced:
Loot gained from surviving the reactor:
Also, on a side note for you guys, I did some measuring of this oblisk. There are a total of 4 floors, the first 3 are able to be walked around in, if you build steps or a ladder. The oblisk has a total height of 35 blocks (33 above ground, 2 below) and is 17x17 blocks at its widest point (first floor). Now that you guys know the exact measurements, and have a better view of this thing (not to mention a better idea of it), you guys can plan ahead on where to build it, what you want to do with it after you build it, and what you can do with it.
If you have enough gold, and you want to make another reactor without making your world uglier from the first one, build your second or third INSIDE your first, so it doesn't take up any more space So no matter how many reactores you build you only have 1 ugly tower I've been playing minecraft quite awhile even though I'm new to this forum

I have a minor quibble with your height measurement. In a run of about 30 activations (half complete cycle, half activate and remove core), all of my resulting obelisks resulted in 32 blocks above ground and 2 17x17 layers below for a total height of 34 blocks. Yeah, if you space it for 35 blocks, the difference just means you have a little more air space at the top, no big deal really.
Lowest floor (1 of 4) is the room the reactor is in. Big open area 15x15x4. Very simple.
The other "floors" are a little more interesting. If you look at the construction, you can see there are three different sections, basically. Internally, those sections extend past where they meet the lower section. The first floor off the ground (2 of 4) ends up being roughly an 11x11 room in the middle, a 1 block thick wall that ends one block off the floor, a 2 block wide hallway, and then the outer wall, with the floor being level. The ceilings from here on up also start to reflect the sloping nature you can see on the outside of the obelisk, which also results in floors 3 and 4 reflecting the sloping nature.
Second floor up (3 of 4), 5x5 internal room, wall, 1 wide hall, outer wall, floor and ceiling definitely not level.
Third floor up (4 of 4), 5x5 room, external wall.
I renovated one into a 6 floor tower. Adding a few of my own floors, and leveling things out, I ended up with the 4 high ceiling bottom room, 3 high second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth, and then a roof platform. Still got some detail work to do, though.

Does anyone know if Jailbreakme.com will work with the iOS 6.0.1 update? I would like to be able to record an in depth video to post here to help out even more.

There is not even normal jailbreak and you want the super hard jailbreak to develop (that anyway hasn't been working since iOS 5)?

Sorry about my english, my native language is spanish!
If you put 20$ in a box, I put 20$ in the box too and then I sell you the box for 30$, we both make a 10$ profit, right?

Jailbreakme did work on iOS 5, I was just wondering if it was updated yet for iOS 6. And there actually is normal jailbreaks out for iOS 6, after all iOS 6 has been out for almost a month now.

The zombie pigmen do drop gold ingots as you can see in the video I posted.
There is a way to get your gold back as well. You can head here to see that:

Also, I would suggest that if you are on an iOS device, to check out my tutorial on how to transfer words from survival to creative. This will allow you to build a core, or a custom map, without losing any materials at all. The tutorial can be found here:
