ello, i'm wondering wether to get the minecraft iOS pocket edition or not, tbh I don't think it's worth the money, infinity blade 2 came out yesterday and is the same price, I understand infinity blade being that since, well, it's infinity blade! with many features and content, but minecraft being that? Plus it doesnt have that much features to be 6.99, some games have better content and are .99, so what do you guys think?
Currently yeah, it isn't worth to buy due to having so little content but yet being costly. I guess it will only be worth when there are more updates.
Look at it like this, Minecraft on the PC was fairly cheap when it first came out but it sucked. Now its top selling the world but doubled in price. I say download it now save money OR jailbreak your iPod and get it free :wink.gif: lol jk
even at its current state it is worth it to me, so maybe youu should ask someone else. but seriously you could try it for free, the difference is you cant do servers or save... so my answer is yes. do it, before it goes up in price.

The short answer - no. There are lots of other games in the app store that cost 99 and offer much better gameplay and content.
This game is just not worth the seven buck price tag. The world is pretty small and while you can putz around in creative mode, the game isn't compelling at all. The good news is that core game itself is pretty stable and doesn't feel buggy in the least. The controls are intuitive and I was surprised to find out I did enjoy the automatic jumping. There's just not a whole lot to do.
Anyways, hold off the money until the game actually receives more content. Right now, all you get is a non-flying limited classic mode with a couple of bugs. I doubt the price will rise unless the devs wants more money.
The game's current state is kind of like the early stages of indev for the PC. I agree it's not worth $7, but that's why I have the free demo that's almost as good as the $7 one :biggrin.gif:

Users lack the mental capacity to have intelligent discussion, and mods lack the mental capacity to make intellegent decisions... I give up trying to share my intelligence with the world.
Keep in mind two things:
1. Mojang is DEFINITELY making Survival Mode.
2. The multiplayer sounds awesome, I hear you can even use Multiplayer to play with the version of the game on the Android!(i.e. a person with the ios version and a person with the android version can play together :smile.gif: )

After 15 years he was 17 and found the bandits thats killed his parents and successfully assinated them.
well the first update to the APP came out on android recently and should come to Ipod and ios devices soon. so its not like your buying the one and only version of the game and it will be updated
First, for an iOS game, it's on the pricey side. Between occasional sale pricing and an unspoken expectation that iOS apps should just all cost 99 cents, I've never before paid more than $2.99 for a game (Infinity Blade and a couple EA Sports game while they were on sale). So, yeah, $6.99 is a price that made me personally say whoa, that seems like a lot.
Second, it's a game that's clearly not yet finished... indeed, it's a game that's missing several parts that are arguably essential for a "Minecraft" game. Really, you can't even "craft" anything yet! Add this fact to the first one, and you start to see a game that is looking seriously overpriced.
Finally, though, you take a step back and look at the way Mojang has developed Minecraft so far. I bought Minecraft Alpha for 9.99 Euros (about $13.80 at the time, I recall) and it was, compared to what we got once the game hit 1.0, an extremely limited shell of a game. But there was consistent improvement, and the game was always fun to mess around with. And people who bought the game later didn't end up with as big a bang for the buck as I got by buying early.
So I went ahead and paid the seven bucks for Minecraft PE. I think it's likely that the PE will continue to get better. I've enjoyed playing around with it so far. I think there's a good chance that the early purchase will be seen as a lucky/smart thing down the road.
And finally, I can always just say to myself "I paid about $20 for Minecraft on my Mac, iPhone, iPod, and iPad." It's impossible for me to think of that purchase as a poor value, even if the iOS version is always a "poor sister."

TNT HATES racism.
Maybe it will help if you whine about it some more.
Totally worth it. Will change ur mind if u are in the right channel. .. For that price man..... Just get it. Maybe its not ur stuff but at least u will know what it it about
This app is the ultimate sandbox app. And what's so cool, is that it will get survival mode. I must admit, I am new to minecraft. I have never played the pc version, but I love the app and say it is well worth the $7 for the iOS version. When I first started playing, I was really into digging large underground labrynths. I was blown over when I inadvertently connected two of my underground creations. I love how you can carve this world. I love the infinite amount of randomly generated worlds. I love checking out the seeds, and seeing beautiful fantastic vistas with arches and waterfalls and hidden lakes. And then you can carve away on these to your heart's content. I have blown so much time creating, and reading the forums. I feel like I really do get it. I love that this is something that you can pick up, add a small portion to your fortress, and then just shut it off so you can be with your family or watch tv or go to work. I am not a very creative person, yet this app has caused me to look at my creations and simultaneously be amazed at what I have created, and the time that I have blown making them. It is addictive like Civilization. And the thing is, they haven't even put in Survival yet.

The price was the same from last alpha to beta if I'm not wrong. So I'm assuming it would be the same later on.

Debatable.

I'd actually wait until it goes on sale if I were you, but it might be hard to wait. :wink.gif:
