Hey, I heard you can get access of blocks like lava, water and ores if you hex edit the player.dat file.
So I decided to edit the file.
It's located at /var/mobile/Applications/Minecraft PE/documents/.....allthewaytill../(your world)/player.dat
I opened up the hex editor and I have no clue on what to do.
Help anyone?
I don't know hex editing at all.
The 00000030 Is the row you are looking for. The other three are the ones you can edit. Here is what you can out in those: (This is Aviin's work, not mine)
Green entries are normally obtainable. Red entries are obtainable through hacking.

Yeah, I noted down Aviin yesterday from the TNT on Pocket Edition thing Lready, I'm just confused with the hex things but I seemed to figured it out but thanks for helping, I can now understand this clearer and yey, I'm having fun with lava and water physics! :DD
My, my, how impatient we are. This will all be pointless once the update comes out....
Haha, true that.. But still, it's a pretty cool hack as of now.. I know why notch didn't add them, lag. With the water and lava physics, you can lag till the game crashes xD.
I have no idea why you brought up an old thread, but to answer your question you're only making one icon look like another one, not act like it. In other words, you can have a TNT icon, but that doesn't mean it will act like TNT.

You guys' must really be bored....
Actually, the explosion physics are implemented in the game, but when TNT breaks, it checks if the level allows TNT explosions. In Minecraft PE, it does not, so TNT breaks just like any other block. In the early videos of Minecraft Pocket Edition prior to release, TNT can be ignited. I think it was also removed due to lag.
I am also a noob to this game, but I went to 00000030 row and put moving water code in the 4th slot and grass code in the 8th slot, it didn't work. Also, why don't they all have player files? Last question, I downloaded a level.dat file and it worked, though the water lava and TNT were invisible in the "toolbox", but the annoying thing is it made my level a survival mode. I can fix that, but is there a simple level.dat download I can get to do this that ISN'T survival? Thanks. Oh also, the app I used is hexeditor.

"You signed a document to have the earth destroyed?!" "I thought they wanted an autograph!" Yeah, it happens to all of us, sometimes.

First of all, this is an old thread. Pocket Edition only uses level.dat files, no longer player.dat. There is also no possible level.dat file with those hex edited blocks out of survival. Different coding, so survival only. Also, the block icons will be missing in the inventory if you hex edited correctly and are able to use the blocks; nothing wrong there.
I already made a program to do hex editing for you. You can also change from Survival to creative and back, change item amounts and damage, and everything you'd need, and you don't need to do anything with hex editing! You have to put the level.dat file (for MCPE v0.3+) on your computer though, so that may be the only problem. Here's a link to my programs thread MCPEedit, it works on all computers with Java installed: MCPEedit
