They were going to used a beefier Hummingbird processor (which is what is in Galaxy S/Nexus S) but they changed their minds last year and switched to their own homemade processor called Exynos for Galaxy S II. So they're actually quite different.
It's odd that Mojang would be having bugs with a Hummingbird powered phone compared to a Exynos phone, because Hummingbird was made by Qualcomm, and a very large number of phones use Qualcomm CPUs. It should have been easier to program for the GS than the GSII.
Incorrect, The Hummingbird SoC, it isn't a processor actually, is made in house by Samsung.
Actually, the Galaxy S phones are quite good, except for the slooooow updates...
That's why I have a Nexus S :laugh.gif:
Then you don't actually have a Galaxy S device, so you don't know what you're talking about :smile.gif:
The Nexus S only shares the Hummingbird SoC, the rest of the phone is pure Google, hardware was changed out to make it a better phone. The aGPS for instance, since it didn't work on Galaxy S devices, My Fascinate(s) are a true blue test of this. They changed a lot of internal components to make the Nexus.
You are WRONG... Hummingbird is made by Samsung, most people say it's Apple A4 processor ripoff, but anyway - Qualcomm made Snapdragon processor (which is now in HTC Android phones, SE Xperia phones and some LG phones). If it would be Qualcomm SGS would have Adreno GPU and it has (known from iPhone, but way better) PowerVR SGX540.
PS: Waiting for it on my Hummingbird & PowerVR powered Nexus S :smile.gif:
Correct, it is an Apple A4 ripoff, well sort of. Samsung makes the chip for Apple :wink.gif: as do they most of the internal iPhone components. So in the end, they're one in the same. PowerVR GPUs go WAY back to the original Droid/Milestone. It's not new, but they keep getting better, iPad2 uses a PowerVR, my Droid Bionic uses a PowerVR.

What do cave noises mean?
Nothing. They're just there to scare the **** out of you.

If this is a hut, I would hate to see what a house is.
Mainly in that previously when things have been delayed its clearly been a top priority for them to be fixing it. Their twitter accounts and random posts here and there support that. With this, since announcing that it wont be yesterday there seems to have been a minor blackout.
to be completely honest and now i've had the morning coffee and chilled for a bit my previous post does look a little angsty and the fact that they are working on the potions and things for the main minecraft pc edition is preferable to the phone.
Also to be honest they have (stumbled upon?) a brilliant marketing strategy. the tagline, "Coming Eventually..." does have a little of the same sort of feeling of that south park episode where Cartman bought a theme park and then said no one could come to it. which immediately has hundreds of people saying, "Why?! i want to come!" which ups the popularity.
I've started talking nonsense now however so i'll leave this thread with with me still looking forward to minecraft PE and hopefully that if it doesn't release then we hear a little more about it. :smile.gif:
"So much to do at Cartmanland but YOU CAN't COME!" :happy.gif: great epp
Can the people that are always whining about delays just shut it? Majong is trying the best they can, when did the 'It will be released when it's done'-phrase make people unhappy?
They are trying to make the game as best as possible, so they delay it for a few days/weeks. I also like how the same people will whine if they'll release it as a pre-beta and there will be some bugs there.
Tbh ive only really seen one person complain about delays and the rest went off topic after the first post and started discussing which phones are **** and why, and i have a SGSII and i love it

Noone in the Mojang office is working exclusively on Minecraft: PE. They hired a team to do it. Hence the lack of information. They can't tweet about things they arn't doing.
They can only report things like, 'The development team stayed up all night trying to tackle a bug with Mincraft: PE.'
NOTE: See that word 'exclusively'? That means that they may help or work on some things for Minecraft: PE, but not that they are developing every little bit of it and porting it to Android devices.
I waited six months for the Samsung Galaxy S II...The day they said it wasn't coming to Verizon I purchased the Droid X2. I have heard nothing but bugs from the S2 and I am glad I got the Droid.
