My boyfriend and I both have an account on his ps3. He had experienced none of the issues I am about to describe other than constant crashing.
I will play on a world, get any amount of things done and save the game and exit. When I come to get back onto my world, my world has been reverted to an old save, while showing the save picture from my latest save. The latest save is in my game utility folder, but I can't seem to load into it.
If my game isn't reverting back to old saves when I don't want it to, it is taking seeds that I have saved and changing them to 0, while showing the save picture of the world I saved it in.
This has only been since the latest update.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a new bug? Is there a solution?
I've experienced this a few times myself. It is indeed something new that I did not encounter until 1.40 and after. I've lost insane amounts of progress because of this bug as well as other save-related issues, one of which I mention here.
Worst of all, there doesn't seem to be a solution.

I'm gonna buy a cheap bouquet before it dies on the display.
Hey this just happened with my son & I. We had this world we've been playing and building literally for over a year. It was AWESOME. This morning we got on it after playing it last night for the first time in a while. Did the update then played our world. Saved it. This morning he wanted to play so I loaded it up and it was as if we were just starting. No items or anything we've built.

Im so angry/sad/annoyed right now.
If you have PlayStation Plus, there might be a backup copy of your save in your Online Storage (located at the top of the Save Data Utility). If it's there, back it up immediately. Disable automatic uploads to prevent the backup from being overwritten by the now-glitched copy. Copy it to a flash drive or directly to your system (but do not load it up again in the game or you risk losing it again).
If you don't have PS Plus, backup any worlds worth keeping to a flash drive, or play it safe and do not load them in-game.
I myself cannot play the game currently. Saving fails half the time, loading a world risks resetting everything, and I've even had my most impressive world (around 400h of work) totally corrupt. Before these issues began to appear, I had about 5 active survival worlds. Now, I only have one - my oldest save from 2013 - and I won't load it up until a fix is rolled out.
Upon request, I sent 4JSteve two of my worlds that exhibited these issues, so I'm waiting to see if anything comes to light.
